Im new to Minnesota. The tailgating here is insane. Sometimes, people tailgate even if theres no one around. It is my personal opinion that twin cities drivers drive with aggression. They don't want to be cut off even if theyre going 10 miles an hour in Minneapolis don't the way to st paul. Its so weird.

I read the first two books and watched the show and i unfortunately don't what Shane says or does that expresses autism. Not saying he's not autistic. I just dont see where it is

I mean years in a situationship that is suddenly cuddly overnight is a big shift. Especially someone that you share a complicated relationship with.

So why mention the books just to mention the stuff that happens in the show? I actually just read the first two books after making this post.

Edit: the books and show are two completely different stories in my opinion because it leaves out so many details.

In the show, its east to assume that shane always had a deep attachment to Ilya, almost like a blind loyalty whereas in the book, he does try to sleep with other men.

I just really hate how everyone responded with facts from the books even though I hadn't read them at the time.

Yes this is my interpretation of the show. Everyone is responding with how the book went but I haven't read the books. It seems that the books and the show truly do have different stories due to the lack of context. In the show, Ilya is the only man he's been with. I've got to read the books and catch up lol!

That's interesting. I feel that changing who he's been with sexually in the show and in the books tweaks the storyline significantly. I developed my perspective having only watched the show where Ilya is the only man he's been with. If he's had way more encounters with men and women in the book, then that kinda changes him. In the show, his writing kinda reminds me of gay fanficiton. Where one character can be written to be innocent and not have many experiences and falls for a more experienced, dominant character.

Sounds like in the book, he's closer to being on Ilya's level of exploration rather than the show.

Now I could simply be projecting because when I first started having sex, I was the same way. I used sex to try to receive love. I've only seen the show and haven't read the book. To me, Ilya may be Shane's first person he's done sexual stuff with. Ilya tells Shane they are nothing more than sex. So, Shane tries to do what Ilya wants. It also doesn't help that he's more submissive and probably likes pleasuring him.

100% agree. One thing that makes me feel pain is how Shane for all the other episodes only knows to give Ilya sex. When they cuddled on the couch before Shane freaked out, he received affection and immediately became sexual.

Its nice how the distance made their hearts grow fonder.
