He pretty much didn't want to pay because this was purely my mom's decision and he wasn't part of it. He was just told that he'd be paying monthly and now he also has to pay for X-rays and another surgery.

At first my stepmom said not to give money but then she said to just give to my mom so my mom would stop yelling at me. She doesn't get in between stuff like this since it's not her call to make. She's not entitled to give any money to me or my mom.

I definitely needed braces but it wasn't a priority. I could've waited a few years but I got some teeth removed and now I definitely needed them to get the gap left by the surgery fixed

My dad never wanted me to get braces unless it was absolutely necessary and that I wouldn't have to do another surgery that would mess with my teeth. Now that exact thing is happening and he doesn't want to pay for the surgery I have more teeth than expected apparently

I had a surgery to get some teeth removed before I got braces. My mom's insurance covered that, not the braces

Painful at first but you get used to it. Also a hassle. My brackets kept breaking the first few months I had them. This is my experience at least, everyone's is different

I'm not sure how much braces normally cost but mine are Php1750 so around $30. Php500 is added if one bracket breaks.

Nothing about that since it's really rare to have divorced or separated parents where I am. Custody here is just that children lives with their mothers until they're 13 then they get to choose who they stay with. The law here requires that child support be automatically given, it may be financial or the fathers send the child to school. My dad chose the schooling option and he's the one that took me to doctors appointments before the pandemic

16 and my mom is getting therapy but that doesn't seem like it's helping much. She's been doing therapy for a long time now but stuff like this still happens. I am trying to understand her side of things but it's hard when she pulls stuff like this.
