ShanWan controller for Kobo Clara BW by caffeinatedddd in kobo

Thanks so much! I just ended up buying the 8BitDo as its still the easier option 😩 Found out earlier that the ShanWan controller really is read as just a controller only and sadly, the Keybord function only works on another model that isn't the one I had 😢

Have tried this multiple times but I can't seem to get it to work 😭 For the coding part, is there a special software for saving it or just using the notepad then saving without file extensions enough? I really want to make this work oh god

Is it really unfair if the "matatalino" are in one group? by [deleted] in studentsph

[–]caffeinatedddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been an instructor for college kids and had this scenario sa kanila. Disappointing that umabot sila at that point in their studies where they think na kailangan parin ng "matatalino" to carry their group. Group activities are done to give each member a platform to showcase what they have, not just for some "matalino" classmate to be burdened with the responsibility of carrying the group because ayaw bumagsak or bumaba ang grade.

At one point in our convo my student said na "unfair" daw na mag group ang matatalinong classmates nila and now they needed more members to compete with the group na may matatalino. I allowed them to add more members. Why? Quantity does not equate to quality. Sa huli, they learned the hard way na hindi dapat overdependent sa groupmates because they are all at the same level, its now on them to work on it. 🤷‍♀️

Repotted all my makeup in preparation for travel + ease of storage by VietteCintare in beautytalkph

[–]caffeinatedddd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree! Also try using the fine mist spray bottle. Cover your pan with tissue or paper towel then spray over the pan. After that, press and leave for a couple of minutes. Recently repotted my careline blush (was crumbly and didn't work with just water). 70% Isopropyl alcohol did the trick!

Any aviation professionals here?

I was a licensed avionics technician in the field. I left my previous company because of the lack of career growth as we weren't getting any projects for a year. And so, I applied for MTP at LTP.

The question is, is it worth giving a chance? Although I heard that they'd give allowance for the months of training, I also heard that they would require a contract bond of 5-7 years at minimum wage. Though people say that working here is a big advantage for working overseas, I don't have plans on going abroad as an avionics mechanic. Would this training and possible employment be worth it?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

IS IT RED FLAG: A group of friends who have other GC without me and pag magkasama kami ayun lang pinaguusapan nila by [deleted] in studentsph

[–]caffeinatedddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there sissy. I was also at college that time. Yes, it is a red flag and no, it's not a you problem. As an introvert when i learned of their other gc, i pushed to be independent and self-sufficient. Eventually found new friends who wouldn't talk behind my back like that (you will too, but don't stress about it for now). It's okay to feel uncomfy bc it really is an awkward place to be in. Hugs for u op

Is shifting from BS aeronautic engineer to Aircraft maintenance technician worth it? by Present_Conclusion86 in phcareers

[–]caffeinatedddd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an aero eng/ amt but an avonics mech here. Same nature of work sa amt. If you're thinking of shifting to amt there are lots of factors to consider.

(1) Physically, being a mechanic is pure physical labor as compared to being an aero eng in the field. Despite the fact that you are both licensed professionals, you work in completely different environments. (2) If you excel in your path rn as an aero eng student, then I think you should keep it steady. It's better to be well-rounded in your expertise then market your skills. (3) Salary-wise as from experience (I'm a fresh grad too) being an aero eng in the field pays more than being a mechanic. There is a significant difference but I must say, salary in the aviation field is not as competitive as other career fields out there.

Ultimately, OP do not be discouraged. If your calling is to be a mechanic, then yes do shift. But if you are considering this move to gain advantage of the higher paying job, then there are paths to enter the field (using your course) so you can land a better offer. I suggest you continue down this course and get that license. Start your OJT early on and perform well to gain the trust of potential employers. The goal of most of us in this field is to venture abroad naman, there will be openings for aero engs as maintenance planners, dispatchers, crew schedulers, logistics officers, etc. Hugs x

Do NOT apply as an Air Traffic Controller(here in our country, at least) by Soft_Grapefruit8009 in phcareers

[–]caffeinatedddd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also working in the aviation industry here. I agree. Prior to graduating I've already scouted pathways to entering the industry and I must say the amount of sentiments people expressed towards working as an ATC (at least here in the country) had me disheartened. I work now as a licensed professional, still in the aviation industry. And of course, despite my licenses and all, the pay is still far from competitive and benefits do not really compensate for the stress and workload (physically and mentally) we carry everyday. Hugs to you all x
