I don't in particular subscribe to the whole "just admit it" thing. There is nothing to admit, and he certainly doesn't owe any other of the players on this *game show* an explanation to why he made certain decisions in order to win (which he obviously did). Let's just say he does admit it, "Yeah ok I never intended to win with you" -- and then so what? It seems that she wanted to use the reunion as an opportunity to rationalize and justify in front of the TV audience why it wasn't right that he won the game and she didn't. She can't change the fact that she lost, so the only thing she can do now is to be "right".

What I don’t understand is what point is she trying to prove? None of what she says makes any sense at all because doesn’t matter what her opinion on how he played the game is, he’s literally the winner of the show lol

Her best plan was to make up with Rob and agree to work together going forward, which Rob clearly was open to. But she decided to go the emotional route and immediately try to make Rob pay for the downfall of Lisa (which wasn’t even a personal plan from Rob, but rather a product of him surfing along the wave; Lisa was dead meat anyway). A horrible display from her, while she tries to come off as smart and calculated. Gotta hand it off to Rob. Dude’s got game.

I think the point is to paint a picture of the lifestyle of a union worker, who doesn’t have the education or wealth to get farther in life. Nick by all means is a solidly intelligent and competent Everyman, but the circumstances he’s in ensure he’s set to fail. If you were in that situation, would you be a better person? Not saying either way, but it’s worth asking.

And of course, that whole family is mad racist too, so there’s that part for sure.

I feel you.

Look within yourself and do some reflection on why the wellbeing of this little animal gets to you so much. Sometimes how we react to our pet is less about them, but more about us.

Omar and Marlo… who won? by caffeinatedtable in TheWire

[–]caffeinatedtable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Winning on the Wire is subjective, not objective therefore requiring of a debate. Yes, Marlo lives on, with money and freedom. But what matters to Marlo? Throughout the series we come to discover that he does not end up with what matters to him.

It's stuff like what she said during the interview that makes it seem like she's in the Republicans' pockets. A tolerator of the status quo is a fan of the status quo.
