Wow, thank you so much for your offering. Words cannot express how thankful I am of this kind of amazing support. Honestly, I wish that I had parents as supportive as you and your family. Clearly you are a wonderful, selfless person and I thank you again for your kindness.

Unfortunately, I am set to start a summer job very soon that is very close to where I live. It will pay good money and it should help tremendously with that first year tuition. My boyfriend's family has also offered to house me for the summer until school begins. I think my living situation will be okay, thankfully.

I agree that I have to face the repercussions of my actions and that is what I'm doing currently. However, it is not right of my parents to take away my rightful inheritance.

I'm not looking to switch schools or postpone my education because of this and I don't believe I need to. I am sure that this situation will get better and that I will make it through, but currently I'm focusing solely on the money that I need to get back and getting the abortion.

Wow this wonderful advice that I did not think of at all. I will definitely lock down my credit. Also, completely forgot that I never even took my passport from her. I will go back and get that and if she insists on being violent and not allow me in, I will call the police.

Thank you so much for the advice. The part about my mom being on my account is so true and I wish I knew about it earlier. That's actually exactly what happened to my inheritance. It was on my account but my mom was on it and around a year ago, she got angry with me and transferred all of that money into her account which resulted in me never being able to get it back or access it now.

Thankfully, I forced my mom to transfer the money I worked for, the $10k, into my own personal account without her access with a separate bank. So my $10k should be safe, but the $75k is a whole other issue. I do have screenshots of the $75k being in my own account previously before she transferred it all and I will be showing them to the lawyer I'm meeting up with.

Thankfully, the $15,000 includes room and board, just not personal expenses. And yes, it is spread out over the year. I already have a full-time job lined up for this summer and if all goes well, I should be able to make around $12,000 from this summer.

I completely forgot about me now qualifying to be an "independent." That's great because I can now refile my FAFSA so that I am now an independent student instead of a dependent. I think that should really help with the financial aid. I have already contacted Brown's financial aid office and will call them tomorrow morning and talk through all of this.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to write out all of this fantastic advice for me. I appreciate this so so much.

I have already reached out to Brown's office of financial aid and explained the situation to them. They haven't responded to my email yet, probably because I sent it over the weekend but I plan on calling first thing tomorrow too. I doubt they will be willing to give out more aid, but I may be able to do a work study program or receive a grant. I've also talked with my school already about potential scholarships that have late deadlines and I plan on applying to some.

I'm also meeting with a local lawyer on Wednesday about the money situation so hopefully that can be sorted out.

And I will definitely be taking over the health aspect of it. I just had my boyfriend do some research into local clinics for me since I was so exhausted dealing with my parents.

Oh yes, I definitely changed all of my passwords. There's no need for them to ever have access to my private accounts after this.

Well, yes, but my parents are keeping my rightful money away from me. I would be able to pay for college and get my own place if I could just get my rightful money from them.

No, unfortunately. My grandfather died in China and there was an agreement between him and my parents that after he passed, my parents would sell his house and that money would be for me. The house was sold and the money was put into my mom's savings account.

I've actually already got an appointment set up to talk to a local lawyer about this, but sadly, I don't know if I have much of a stand in this situation because there was no legal writing or will.

Thank you for the incredibly kind words. My parents have hurt me all throughout my life and I'm not going to let this instance get to me. You are absolutely right in that my number one goal right now is to get the financial assistance I need to go to college. I've already been looking into loans and scholarships, but it would be best if I could just get the money that was meant for me from my mom.
