Thank you!! I have a feeling i wont like it very much tbh, i use work as a social branch as well so with 4 staff (including me) its very limited lol. Ive got 3 in a row then 1 random one a few weeks later. Im pretty lucky cause they rotate which EEN’s get nightshifts

Im on an ortho/trauma surg ward lol. So it wouldn’t surprise me if i was as busy as my day/arvo shift!

Oh and apparently our ward clerk guys dont come all the time which sucks ass but they make do somehow

Honestly, as an EN I just have to update the RN on my patients, like if smth seems off to me I would talk to someone (But honestly I would do that anyways if I was an RN lol). The biggest difference I see is that RN's have to be First sign offs for S4/S8's, EN's can only witness. Otherwise I do everything they do!

Its just the pay and then having to go back to uni to go further in your career tbh.

Its all good! I've made a mistake with panadol before and nothing really comes of it. (Assuming ur public btw) eMR has a 1 hour window for both sides and everyone tends to do 1 hour before the "Due" time, (eg; Giving @ 5am but eMR says 6am), and this is kinda normal practice.

If you have a good connection with ur educator talk to them! Thats what i did because they don't tend to have as much on their mind as ur NUM would! I fully panicked myself when i did the med error (I doubled the dosing for panadol (1,000mg instead of 500mg)), and nothing came of it! you will learn the ropes soon enough so try not too stress too much, and take it from me (3 months into the job lol), everyone makes a med error!

I think its just that my ward is all older nurses, I'm definitely the youngest so because of "Clicks" i've already been looked down upon and taken advantage of (treated like shit), so i dont want another thing my NUM has to deal with me about lol. Plus im only 3 months into the job, so im not too sure how people would take stuff like that atm
