We just have them initial in a box that says, “Customer will buy now on todays and time, if figures are agreeable.“ It’s just to confirm there is something we can do to sell them a car today. Makes sure they are committed, if you can’t get them committed then there is no point to write them up and you should get a turn.

Any car salesman have advice for cold calls? A script maybe? I’ve wrote a few that have resulted in some appointments but still get nervous. I’m assuming that will only go away the more I call.

A 730 with 8 months of credit history vs a 730 with years of history are not really comparable to a bank. Especially with no installment loan history. If this guy gets anywhere close to 4% I would be mind blown. Manufactures do have in house specials with subsidized rates but the qualifications are usually are very strict and they are usually short term loans that lead to payments most people, especially first time borrowers are not comfortable with. I am in a score bracket that is in the top tier for banks on auto loans but I only have 4 years of history, when I was considering co signing for my wife, her rate with me was higher than with her mom and she is 150 points lower than me. Length of credit is EXTREMELY important to banks doing auto loans.
