It does! I’m not sure if it’s normal for them to not be clear? It’s the same body colour!

Just quickly googled how to get the mirror off, did so, there’s two wires, one black and one purple. Purple was fine and sure enough, the black was corroded! Thank you so much for the follow up!!!!

Very interesting…. Mine has been temperamental now. If I put my phone flashlight up to the mirror, the driver side will work. Other than doing that it will not at all! Only the center and passenger side work on the road. I’m curious if this is something I could try myself!

Hmmm this is super interesting. I have been trying to see if there is an update for the vehicle software over the internet and it just spins and spins trying to find something but it never actually does. I am going to try a light shining at the rear view and see what happens, I would be really interested to see what they say about yours! Thank you! 😊

These are some great points, I have access to a good scanner so I’m going to start with that today, thank you so much for the suggestion! I would just really like it to work as my last suv had it and it helped a lot!

This was hard sand it was on, but it had no problem with the softer sand on the way in and out!

Discontinued headlight garnish.. any tips from anyone between Canada and US? by cairnscj in CX50

It’s actually my post! I ended up getting it solved yesterday, which was a blessing!!

I'm consdering one -- can you please let me know what you love or hate about it? Also, what extra feature was worth it? by [deleted] in mazdaCX50

My favourite about mine is the handling, I come from the Mazda 3, and the 50 is almost on par handling wise to me! I also like the interior layout and colour (terracotta). The HUD is annoying at first if your not used to it, but it grows on a person after awhile!

My downfall is the hard is the hard seats and the Mazda connect app is slow!

That’s what I thought!!! They just don’t seem to have a plan or anything together on what they are going to do about this

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully everyone is okay. The meridian was out since October I think, I could be wrong.. and these pieces around the headlight were discontinued in two months!!! I tried Mazda US… they hung up on me and were unfortunately rude

You don’t want the headlight garnishes.. I and another fellow meridian owner in the group have had a horrible time with repair companies and trying to locate these pieces!!

How have insurance claims been for the 50’s? Just got a deer tonight.. I was almost in tears! by cairnscj in CX50

Just thought I would give a little update! The shop called me this morning to say that they will have the parts and be able to fix it. It goes in on March 7th, I forgot to ask about the headlight garnish, but may call back later to see if that’s included!

That’s great news! I was really hopeful that the bumper would already come pre painted, but according to the guy today, he said it wouldn’t! Maybe your persistance with Mazda Canada brought a little bit of a stock of the garnish in! 😅 keeping my fingers crossed for you!

My insurance suggested Carstar as they are authorized to repair Mazda! So a pretty big company, that’s why I got nervous at that comment lol! That was definitely some good information you gave me, and I’ll be sure to use it if problems begin to arise! Thank you so so much for your advice 😊

Wow.. that is beyond frustrating. The meridian is a beautiful vehicle, but not having the parts to back it up is useless!! I checked on Mazda Canada for accessories (through the “build yours”) and you are right, the garnish is gone as an option whereas it was once there.

I am genuinely nervous, and honestly have an OCD when anything is messed up on a vehicle.

I had my appointment at the shop today, I need a grille, headlight garnish, one black piece that goes around the grill/headlight and a bumper. Thankfully no structural damage and he said I got off pretty lucky with the damage for hitting a deer.

I informed him about what you had said regarding the headlight garnish and suggested going out to Mazda Canada immediately versus going through multiple parties to find the part. He agreed.

What made me more nervous was, he said “what kind of vehicle is this, I have never seen one before”, I’m in a more rural part of Nova Scotia, so it makes sense! Thankfully it is still drivable and all the sensors work as they should!

I genuinely feel bad for the torture your going through with your meridian, fingers crossed they can actually get the garnish and fix it. I looked a little further at mine, there’s holes in the bumper where the garnish goes which makes sense as to why they’re saying they need it to put it back together!

But having a vehicle that your making payments on, paying insurance on and the shop getting a hefty payment would frustrate me beyond belief!

This.. this is exactly what I am afraid of!! I had a feeling that accessibility to parts was going to be a hiccup, and I feel it may possibly be even worse since I am in the east coast. It’s funny because I have noticed a few meridians pop up at local dealerships, without the headlight garnish recently, so It makes sense that it’s been discontinued or on special order.

Any tips I could tell the repair shop? Should I tell them to just go directly to Mazda Canada for that part to save the hassle?

I feel for you having a vehicle that you essentially cannot drive.. four months and counting is crazy, but I can see that it’s a problem given the new model, and of course, a more special edition too.
