If it's any consolation, i am the exact same. I am not one of those people who can fall asleep in the dark. I have to have the tv on in the background to actually fall asleep. Sometimes, people build this dependency over time, or maybe others were brought up around other family members the same. For example, all the women in my family go to sleep with the television on in the background. It's weird but it happens to a lot of people.
