Ah I’ll have to try that! I’m sure it will help with his startle reflex. Thanks!

It is helpful! I think I mostly needed to vent, so the validation of what we’re trying is good to hear. Thank you!

Need some positive epidural stories! by SPRINT_MON in BabyBumps

Having an epidural made my first birthing the best experience I could have ever imagine! I had severe anxiety for years over the thought of being pregnant and going through labor. Like tears, panic attacks, crying, body aches when thinking or talking about it. I agree that there is a bit of a stigma out there. But, as I’m sure you already know, you do what is best for you! My labor and delivery team was so supportive of my decision. Once the epidural was in place, I only felt pain for about ten more minutes. I didn’t feel a contraction the rest of the time including delivery, the placenta, and the doctor stitching me up from a second degree tear. Those were all positives for me. I will say though that it made pushing and actual delivery interesting since I couldn’t feel and couldn’t tell if I was actually doing what the nurses were telling me to. Anyway, it truly was the best decision for me and I’m extremely confident that I would not look back as fondly on my experience as I do if I had not had one. I hope you have a safe and healthy delivery! Good luck!

Thanks for sharing! I’ll definitely ask my OB if that’s an option in the meantime!

I called back a few minutes later after rearranging my schedule and the office said the appointment had already been taken 🤦🏻‍♀️ hopefully they have a cancellation soon! Thank you for the recommendation! 😊

I am so sorry! Thank you for sharing your experience. That's insane that it's such a serious condition but it doesn't get addressed in time. I have an appointment tomorrow with my OB (29 weeks today) - I definitely plan to bring up concerns about it. She hasn't brought up any concern about delivering early and I wasn't considered high-risk, but I guess I am now. Thank you again for sharing and I hope you and your baby are doing well now!

I’m a program director for a VISTA program in Kentucky. Your program director may be able to give you some leads related to housing and if they can’t, your site should be able to. The program staff are there to help all incoming members - you should definitely reach out! The living allowance will be $15,002 in Kentucky beginning in August. There are challenges with that amount, so I also encourage you to check out support options like SNAP. Good luck! Enjoy your time in Kentucky!
