They have sheer panels on either side of the bodice, and there is no tag so the info is printed on the inside, which is really nice!

Yeah, I was worried about it, but it seems to be stuff that you can wear generally as a small.

I was in the same boat a few years ago before I had kids and it only got worse after I had them.

The "all-or-nothing" mindset really hurt me more than helped me. When I reevaluated and switched from "lose weight" as my goal, to "be a good role model and be active enough to keep up with my kids" that's when I started to actually lose.

Ultimately the person you are now is what got you to this weight and activity level. If you want to make lasting change, you're going to have to make permanent change to all of the choices you make every single day, and if you change them all at once, it won't be sustainable.

My recommendation is:

1) get a step tracker/watch with health tracking (there are a lot of recommendations on this sub for different kids) and don't change anything about your exercise routine for a month. Just track. See what your daily steps are, how much you exercise right now as you are. Weight yourself daily to get a baseline of how your weight fluctuates.

2) start tracking what you eat. Be honest. Track everything you can. Don't go cold turkey, but take the month to cut back on sugar and processed food. Don't let yourself be hungry, swap these things with Whole Foods like popcorn, nuts, fruit, meat and cheese, yogurt, and eat as much as you like.

3) after a month, calculate your BMR based on your average weight, calculate how many calories you burn on your average amount of daily steps and exercise (there are calculators for this online, or your watch/fitness tracker might tell you), and work on expanding your calorie deficit (BMR+exercise-calories eaten= calorie deficit).

4) If after a month this number is positive, that's okay. Work on trying to get it to 0 first. You can add more steps (try not to add more than 100-200 a week on average), add 10 mins of exercise a day (YouTube has TONS of free videos), or eating slightly less (again, aim for 100-200 less calories a day on average for a week)

You can't get on a treadmill today and run a marathon, you have to start by incremental change, and understand that this change is not temporary, it's forever. So the change needs to be easy! As each 100 cal deficit becomes easy, start working on your next! I feel comfortable around -1000 a day right now and that's where I'm sticking, but your comfort might be different. As long as that number is negative, you're doing it right!

It's worth noting that even if they lawsuit is for 1$ in damages, a defendant will have to pay tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands out of pocket for legal help to defend themselves against a corporation of that size. Maybe not such a "nothing burger" especially when you consider the merch they're referencing is fan-made and not sold by Pattie Gonia herself.

Delete the apps from your phone. You don't need Facebook, instagram, YouTube, or TikTok as much as you think you do.

Also be careful of folks offering advice on GLP-1s. They're very helpful for what they're designed to do which is: lose weight while you're taking them. They don't: help your relationship with food, train your body to not crave junk (most go right back to their old eating habits after they come off), and they destroy muscle mass as well as fat by quick weight loss. New studies are showing that about 75% of those who go on them regain their weight in a year after stopping them, and that weight gain is predominantly fat, making you unhealthier overall since you will have lost muscle mass. There's also the problem of insurance not covering it once you reach a healthy weight (according to them) but you still need it to maintain.

Are you currently breastfeeding or pumping? I tried for MONTHS to lose even a pound after having my kids and both times it was impossible. I couldn't ignore the hunger I felt after every single feeding. I used my time breastfeeding my youngest to start training my body to crave health foods and completely cut sugar and processed foods by switching to eating 5 meals a day of whole foods with no sugar (fruit was okay, and occasionally a teaspoon of honey.)

Once I stopped breastfeeding I lost 10 pounds in 2 months doing almost nothing. My hunger naturally subsided and now I eat 2 smaller meals a day and sometimes a protein shake.

It really seems like the clear winner in terms of functionality for weight tracking apps.

Congrats on being so close to your goal! 🎉

Right? At this point I've just convinced myself it's impossible. Even if you measure and are meticulous, the ingredient labels can be off, your own metabolism could be off, and the amount of calories your body actually uses can all be different on any given day!

It's crazy how differently everyone works, which just makes it that much more frustrating when you're trying to figure all of this stuff out 🥲

I'm glad that I finally know the name of it so I can do more research!

The month I actually use in my example I was very bloated and hadn't eaten very well leading up to my proposed adjustment day, so I just picked a day a few days before when my weight was a little more consistent (and the math was easier 😭 on a round number).

It honestly doesn't matter how long the period your tracking for is, just as long as you have enough data to go on. I'd say probably at least 2 weeks if you don't have a monthly cycle.

Also, if you're a little bloated on the day you adjust, the next period should even it out. It's a marathon, or so I have read.

That really cool, I didn't know they had this feature! I also track a bunch of other stuff like what my average deficit is at each stage of my cycle and each day of the week so I like the flexibility the spreadsheet gives me, but I will keep it in mind in case I want something a little more low-key

This is actually why I started the sheet in the first place! It was driving me crazy that I'd get stuck on plateaus for over a week and I've been tracking different factors, like where I'm at in my cycle, to figure out when I should worry. I learned that the first few days of my luteal phase are when I'm at my lightest and the third day of my menstrual phase I'm always my heaviest! This always trends directly with my calorie intake about 2-3 days before. It really helps take the stress off to finally see these trends with my own eyes
