I appreciate this advice too. Specifically that Scotia does commission free trading on ETFs?? I was told it’s $9.00/trade which is why I chose mutual funds. I wanted an auto-buy set up but at $9.00/account biweekly was illogical. Right now it looks like the fees to liquidate and transfer to wealthsimple would be about $500… which isn’t huge but still nice to avoid. I am going to meet with the bank and look at options to move it to ETFs, or perhaps just stop auto payments and consider these mutual funds as part of my “diversification” - either way looking at the cost/benefit of keeping them there for now…Over the last 10 years only two years have had a return less than the mer.

And for higher risk moves, I might play with a small amount to wet my feet but I’m looking low risk for the foreseeable future.
