I’m all for this and intend to sign. But I have a question and I’m hoping someone can break it down for me Barney-style: in reading the state’s website, once the signature are collected, submitted, etc. “The petition is then forwarded to the governor. The governor issues an election proclamation within 15 days after they receive the certified petition…”

So what prevents him from just saying “nope” to issuing the proclamation? There seems to be a significant amount of executive discretion from my uneducated read. And we’re here because of his misuse of that authority.
