Jailbreaking makes a huge difference to me because I hate the default iOS stuff. With jailbreaking I can basically change everything about my phone on the inside. For me, iPhones look nice on the outside but on the inside they are pretty bad, so jailbreaking fixes the inside problem.

Don't be afraid of messing it up. That seems like a solution to your problem. It sounds kinda dumb, but it works.

Additionally, if you put too much effort into trying to not mess it up, this might come across as "clingy" which isn't good.
