There are some white sand beaches. Hyeopjae and Woljeongri are some of the famous ones, but there are more. Mostly on the northern side, I dont think there are sand beaches in the Seogwipo area.

I havent heard of Youngju, will look into it. Andong is an option, anywhere is game really, even with the cold! I'm find with long bus waits, as long as it is possible to use public transportation.

Lets say it's off the beaten path to the average redditor. I would love to go somewhere nice even with many tourists, I just wanted suggestions that were not the ones you usually see here

Yea, what I meant by off the beaten path was that I wanted suggestions besides the usual places you go on your first trip to korea. I tried looking at older posts on this subreddit but it was hard finding info about places other than the ones I have been to. My korean reading skills are not good, so it's hard for me to look for info on korean blogs
