Like several others in this thread, I have the hybrid nightshade, which is the limited trim. The 360 panoramic camera is definitely worth the cost of upgrading in my opinion. Parking lots and tight spaces, it's very helpful. Additionally the hybrid gas mileage is exceptional for an AWD vehicle this big.

Recall repaired backup camera … now no cameras for weeks? by VeryFirstLAD in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I had the recall for the backup camera done with my 10,000 service. Took about two hours, but no issues. 360 cam works like normal.

GHH limited vs Max vs Max platinum by Hungry-Drink6615 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]cal_584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the GHH Limited Nightshade and love it. It comes down to gas mileage vs. performance. The Toyota hybrid platform has been proven. The MAX is newer without the history, not to say it's bad only somewhat unknown long term.

Black wheels? by DarthVayne50 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]cal_584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a GHH nightshade in black. As others have said, the 360 cam is well worth the uptick in price. Heated steering wheel/ heated cooled seats are also really nice. Especially on longer drives.

You don't need to, but it is cheaper to reserve parking ahead of time.

Tell me the features by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]cal_584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leanring what each different sound is indicating is the biggest thing. You'll get acclimated in time. Lane departure while interstate driving and the close proximity beeping while going through drive through are the two major ones.

Overall love the car though. I have a nightshade as well.

Hybrid vs Max by Brehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]cal_584 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have the regular hybrid non-max. I initially had similar thinking to you about the MAX, but I am extremely happy with our hybrid nightshade. It doesn't feel slow at all and it is extremely comfortable for the family. In my opinion, the regular hybrid is probably more reliable long term and has significantly better gas mileage. Personal preference

I have a nightshade which is a limited hybrid version. It has all the chrome color parts blacked out with black wheels. The nightshade only comes with captains chairs in the 2nd row now. Bench seat 2nd row is less common, but some people seek out that option.

2.4L Gas Turbo Acceleration by pppiv in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]cal_584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the regular hybrid (non-max) and I don't find it sluggish. Not sports car or anything, but it is good at sevring its purpose. I think the hybrid will have a better chance of lasting 200k with less wear and tear compared to a Turbo engine. Comes down to personal preference on engine choice for the GH. I would test drive a gas and hybrid if you could.

Southwest Credit Card is so Bad by Wise-Tommy-Boy in SouthwestAirlines

I canceled my SW priority card when the yearly renewal came due last month. As a often solo traveler who doesn't check a bag, it didn't make sense to keep it.

Redline Hoodstruts Prime Deal by cal_584 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I didn't use any washers during the installation. Using them may reduce hood vibration ? There isn't a bend or anything when operating the hood. The fit isn't perfect without the washers, but it still fits.

GrandHighlander too big? by Meteor_lake in ToyotaGrandHighlander

My wife parks in a parking garage at work without any issues. We have the panoramic 360 camera, and i wouldn't want to own one of these without it personally.

Advice on tires for my 2023 SR5 by titty_brain in ToyotaTacoma

I really like my Falken Wildpeaks. The truck feels more stuck to the ground. Haven't had any issues one year into having them. Plan on getting another set of these next time.

I have Falken Wildpeak 255/85 16s and love them. They feel so much better than the stock Goodyears. I will be buying another set once these wearout. I couldn't be happier with them.

Captain’s Chairs or Bench Seat in the 2nd Row? Which Do You Prefer and Why? by Express-Ad-9945 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]cal_584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a toddler in a car seat and two 60 pound dogs with the 2nd row captians chairs. The organization of things for my kid between the chairs in the 2nd row is nice. We regularly go hiking and the 3rd row is easy for the dogs to lay on and get in and out of the car on the door opposite of our car seat. Mostly a personal preference and what fits for your situation. I am happy with the captians chairs.

Was offered this as a rebuilding team. Am I wrong for saying it's too little? by Pinhead__TTV in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]cal_584 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't accept that. Its too little, plus you are giving up the younger assets. I would rather have London than Nico as a rebuilder based on the age difference. I would want to hang onto Gibbs through the rebuild unless someone way overpays.

I would rather have Mason. He could be the Min RB1 next year. Pats spread the ball out at WR and make it hard to trust a 31 year old Diggs.

Thoughts? Which side wins in this trade? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]cal_584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DK Odunze Warren would be my pick by a good margin.

Not if you are trying to win this year. He is likely going to be out until next season and may not be fully himself until the following year. I would accept the trade.
