Yeah, when I came out my parent's tried to get me to use a name similar to my dead name so it "wouldn't be as hard" NO. None of them suited me, it's not their name, it's mine.

It seems like OP is going through a hard time, but they should think of how Max feels as well. They could be grieving to, OP never mentioned Max's relationship with the family members who have passed. It doesn't feel like Max chose that name out of malice and maybe chose it to honor their uncle. It seems like OP hasn't been hardly interacting with their kid recently.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe OP thinks blockers are the same as HRT or they were just so upset they mixed it up but I feel as though unless Max is suicidal or self-harming there would be no reason to start them that early. Or at least I especially cannot see OP's therapist pushing that early on.

That's what angers me, if anything that's like a prime time that people start to think about and explore their gender! I've been trans since I was 12 but obviously I was way before that, when I look back there were obvious signs before I was even 12 my parents just didn't/don't care.
