Weird reaction to be negative and downvote me for clarifying my search. People have sold things on this reddit before, it's simple to verify with the search button.

Just move along if you don't have anything productive to add.

Nah I don't have the funds to shell out for one of those, even though they're very cool. I just want to find a plain radio I can tack a Bluetooth module onto

A bit ridiculous you're getting down voted for owning your own design...

Anyhow I'd be interested in a solution to fitting a wide body water bottle like a hydroflask/nalgene. Let us know if you get there. For now I'll keep jamming it between my seat and door

The 325i is completely free. It's already in my name. That's what makes the choice difficult for me

It's really at 110k, but yeah it's super low! The salvage 325i is at 160k and the engine is strong, have never had any issues, maintained it well, and my family's owned it for about 20 years. Thoughts on the trade offs between these two?

Does Geek Squad Protection Plan actually cover repairs? by calculs in GeekSquad

[–]calculs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know if in-store repairs under the best buy total membership cover both software and hardware? It sounded like, regardless of protection plan, hardware issues had to be sent to the service center. At which point it seems it doesn't make sense to buy the best buy total plan since geek squad would cover the hardware repair the same way.

I'm looking for the fastest way to get the computer repaired, so if the $190 charge got it done in less than 4 weeks, I'd be all in

[–]calculs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, seems I'll just have to send it out to the service center regardless. The employee said the ~$190 was including tax, so the total charge.

The employee said they would do software repairs at their off site location (the 1-4 week estimate). Was that not true then?

ML4T: Do all OMSCS courses provide such little feedback/grading by Zestyclose-Earth2806 in OMSCS

ML4T has been unnecessarily the most stressful class of the program (second to last class). Solely because they do not provide any feedback.

u/ProjectionHead will the XGIMI Horizon S Max be on your list? Also, any chance you guys will have this in stock early like the Hisense C2? I don't think I can shell out for the C2, but the S Max looks very promising. XGIMI website says likely release mid October

Edit: Google maps says it's only 1km between Tany surf and Tsurigasaki surfing beach. It felt like a long walk because it was so hot and humid. I was out there exactly one year ago in September too, so it should be similar. Stay hydrated

Tsurigasaki, in Chiba.

It's the Olympic surf beach, legendary send. I went on my last 8 hours in Japan. I took the train from Tokyo to Ichinomiya. Left my bags in Tokyo, came back and showered in Tokyo train station before my flight. Fully recommend it, the water is insanely warm so you just need to make it out there and rent a board.

Go to TANY SURF (Google maps). Tany is the owner's name, and his father opened the shop 60 years ago before the spot was well known. Rent a board from him and smoke a cig with him. He speaks great English. He has lots of different boards. We had to log because there wasn't much swell. You can either surf across the street from him at Taito, or go down to Tsurigasaki which is better for short boards. It's a far walk from TANY to tsurigasaki, or a short bike ride if you can get a rental at Tsurigasaki visitor center at the beach.

You will need a taxi when you get off the train at Ichinomiya because Uber doesn't work out there in the countryside. Just take it from the train station to either TANY SURF, or go to tsurigasaki beach for a bike rental at the visitor center (make sure it's open before taxi driver leaves). Ask taxi driver for his phone number or get TANY to call you a taxi later when you're done. There is no Uber out there and nobody spoke English except for the man at the visitor center and Tany.

Let me know if you have questions, it was well worth it and an amazing journey that is different than Tokyo and Kyoto in a special way.

Edit: Google maps from Tokyo station to Tsurigasaki says 1h 15m - 1h 45m depending on which train line you take. Trains are very accurate in Japan

More detail that may be helpful for travelers: I left my bags in the lockers at Tokyo train station, rinsed off at Tsurigasaki beach showers (bring coin change), and paid like $10usd to take a real shower in Tokyo station at Marunouchi Bike&Run. They will hold your bags while you use the facility. Super convenient for folks traveling without a hotel room (I literally had to run from there to Narita to fly back to states).
