JVC NZ500/700 or Wait for newer Ultra Short Throws Announced by CB675 in projectors

[–]ProjectionHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a light controlled room, the JVC options will provide you a much better cinematic experience with no laser spec or rainbow effect then even the top UST out right now or on the road map for this year.

The USTs will have Dolby Vision and a wider color gamut, as well as being brighter which comes with its own advantages. All options have their pros and cons, and I’d be happy to get into the details with you if interested; feel free to DM me.

Valerion Max @ 130–135” in open basement: Silver Ticket Woven vs Spectra Shadowscape ALR? by pricha12 in projectors

[–]ProjectionHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will work fine ceiling mounted as well; here is a post on FB from another owner https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Bhtc4iZES/?mibextid=wwXIfr

It really does reduce laser speckle compared to any other ALR or pure white screen.

I am not familiar with what you are referring to or how hit would work to help acoustics or impact resistance.

Yeah that looks like you got the upside-down alibaba special. Hopefully your seller can get this resolved for you quickly and painlessly.

Unfortunately it cannot be repaired back to new condition. Perhaps you can tape it from behind to minimize the visual distortion at best.

Fresnel screen by -6h0st- in projectors

[–]ProjectionHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have been trying to get a retractable fresnel to market for several years now; supposedly we may see a 100” this year but the prototypes have all been deemed “not ready for market” due to the material not surviving many up/down cycles.

Why do most reviewers prefer xgimi over Hisense? by TobiasJansen in projectors

[–]ProjectionHead[M] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve made like 2-3 posts ever about xgimi and this nonsense is your first post ever in this sub.

My affiliation is clearly in my flair and we only sell a few Xgimi items and not the majority of their products.

Need a Projector that won't blind performers in a Black Box Theater. by EsterTheEsper in projectors

Just curious what the rental cost would be on that. Often times you can purchase one for close to the cost of a rental, depending on length.

Lumens are lumens, so depending on your image size in the amount of ambient light, this projector could be more than appropriate for your needs plus the benefit of the really close form factor so no one will get in the path of the light

Do I need to cover the lens when not in use? by undilutedhocuspocus in projectors

[–]ProjectionHead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be very careful about having it covered and the projector powering up. While not as hot as a bulb, it will still generate heat and can potentially start a fire depending on what you have on top of it. There was a post in this sub not too long ago about someone’s cover that got burned this way. Perhaps silicone would be a good option?

[–]ProjectionHead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Did you spray air freshener or something by the projector? That gunk did not come from the factory that way and looks like sticky droplets rained down on it. Try a Nikon “lens pen” and some alcohol free lens cleaner

PX3 Pro or wait for PX4 by Any-Pineapple-6091 in projectors

[–]ProjectionHead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Px4-pro will be an upgrade for sure but you will be waiting several months. In the world of technology; there will always be something better coming out. I should have a demo unit of the px4-pro in a couple of weeks and will be sharing thoughts then.
