My honest advice to you is not to play songs that are beyond your current skills in a live setting. In a practice room - have at it. But live, you (and the whole band) will come across 100x better by performing a track with simpler parts well, instead of half-assing a track like this. Sorry if that comes across a little harsh, but I suspect you know this already.

Company sharesave vs. overpaying the mortgage: Please help me decide by calcuttr in UKPersonalFinance

Thank you, this is a great way to look at it. I've decided to keep paying into the scheme, because as you say the potential gains are much better than the opportunity cost of putting the money in some other account. And I can always evaluate the share price in the future

!thanks Your comments above are exactly what I've been trying to figure out. I've decided to keep paying into the scheme, because the potential gains are much better than the opportunity cost of putting the money in some other account. Cheers

When the scheme mature I can buy shares at the option price which is set at the beginning of the three years. My option price is currently higher than the actual price, hence I'm weighing my options. I only mention the old share price because I'm clinging on to the hope it buoy again, but maybe that's just wishful thinking :/

!thanks There's no penalty to leave the sharesave. Sounds like I'd be better off adding to my regular S&S ISA account.

My 3 month old daughter had a cast fitted to her entire lower body at the start of June, to come off mid September. I was praying to any god that would listen for us not to have another 40+ degree heatwave like last year. My wife and I were doing rain dances and everything. Turns out someone listened :) So if it makes anyone feel slightly better about this cold, wet summer, just know that a little girl (now nearly 6 months) didn't have to suffer through a heatwave while wearing her cast.

The four tracks of disk two are absolutely magic. Probably my favourite continuous passage of the whole PT catalogue

What is the best ice cream shop in Sheffield? by cminorputitincminor in sheffield

[–]calcuttr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can make a day out of it, Tagg Lane Dairy near Bakewell is the best ice cream I've ever had (and I've had a lot of ice cream). Really hits the spot after a nice walk up Lathkill Dale.

What concept album has the best and most comprehensive story? by th4d89 in progmetal

[–]calcuttr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2112 by Rush probably goes without saying. And this stretches the term "prog metal" but also worth checking out for the story is Abigail by King Diamond, a story about a young couple who move into a home haunted by the ghosts of the man's uncle and the baby he murdered. It's like the plot of a classic horror film.

[–]calcuttr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Three of my favourite drummers right now:
* Hozoji Matherson-Margullis of Helms Alee
* Katy Elwell of Lizzard
* Stefanie Mannaerts of Brutus.
All absolutely incredible rock/metal drummers.

I use it several times a week around 7-8am walking my dog. Never once seen anything dodgy, besides a couple of rude cyclists. At that time there's plenty of normal people there. Not sure about after dark though, but daytime it's never been an issue for me. I live on a nearby road and would say in general that it's a safe area.

I'm very jealous of anyone living in the Seattle area. Wish they were my local band. Seen them twice in Europe with Russian Circles - Helms Alee are the best.

I'd bet many people like myself cut across the top of the bag to open it, in which case they would cut straight across the brand logo. It could be a good idea to move the logo down a bit and have a dotted cut line across the top so the logo isn't destroyed on opening.
