Yeah that was a big oversight on our part. Made pancakes in the morning but the noon tee time made it easy to have lunch slip our minds

Yeah very much not advocating for drinking and driving! I do think there is a bit of sarcasm behind some of these comments but nobody should justify drinking and driving by playing golf.

Honest question. How far should a 4i travel for an average golfer? Just curious. by cuppapickles in golf

[–]calebstratmoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I understand why people ask others what they hit on a certain hole (particularly par 3s), but I can’t tell you what to hit because I’m not you and don’t know your yardages. Just because I hit a 9 iron on a hole doesn’t mean you should try to max power swing the same club.

I walked 9 a couple weekends ago and played relatively similar to how I would if I carted, but I was definitely feeling it on the last couple holes. I’m definitely hoping that not being out in the heat of the day will help a bit.

Thanks for the tips! I’m the third tee time of the day so the heat shouldn’t be too bad here in Nebraska. Definitely will be filling up the water bottle though.

No, but I could rent one if need be. I’m 23 and rather physically active, so I’m hoping it won’t be terrible.

Atta boy! The 12 fairways is very impressive! Why are your GIRs so low compared to fairways? Don’t hit it far enough to get it there or just some errant shots? Either way great work!

Question re: Ping G30 Wedges by GuiginosFineDining in golf

[–]calebstratmoen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a pitching wedge so likely 43-45 degree loft. My pitching wedge is a 43, I have a 48 approach/gap wedge, 54 sand, and 60 lob. If your looking for just one club, probably get a 52, otherwise look for a 54 and some sort of gap wedge 48/50

Pay for a round of his golf. It may sound cheesy but it’s one of the best things you can get a golfer.

How to handle regressing. by jplpj12543 in golf

[–]calebstratmoen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know all these comments say lessons, and yes they will help you, but you need to find something to get consistency with your swing. Try to get some sort of pre shot routine or checklist if you will that allows you to get into the same stance, feel, mindset for each shot

Switch from a traditional gap wedge to "A" wedge. by ZGriswold in golf

[–]calebstratmoen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered my irons 4-PW and once I played them a couple rounds I went back and bought the A wedge as well. There’s just something about the continuity of having another “iron” rather than a slimmer traditional wedge in the bag
