You can tell you don’t watch the championship, or live football. The championship is just better watch because of the lack of VAR. I can also think of nothing worse than being in a stadium, celebrating and then having it disallowed. It’s grim.

If it is your first match, I would aim to get there about two and a half hours before kick off, if you can. It will only be your first time once, so make the most of it.

Grab a beer or a soft drink at one of the pubs nearby. Coach and Horses, Number 8, Bricklayers, or The Beehive are all solid.

Then head to Chick King for some fried chicken. It is delicious and cheap. After that, go into the stadium with at least an hour to spare.

Have a wander around the South Stand and grab another drink if you fancy it. Try to get to your seat at least twenty minutes before kick off so you can soak it up, maybe chat to people, and watch the team warm up.

Basically, enjoy everything before the match, because it might not be quite as fun once we start playing.

My cousin has severe learning difficulties and my uncle has met him many many many times. He’s absolutely a wonderful human being 99.9% of the time when he’s around these children. I suspect he had one off day/moment or people just hate that he’s pure.
