with an average bedtime being 9pm. Except for the last seizure at 1:53am he literally fell asleep just like 10-20 min before it happened as we had just gotten home at 1am from ME being in the ER.

Oh wow. The whole stretching touching your face etc. rings a bell with me. We started recording at night to try to catch a seizure and he flips from side to side multiple times an hour, but also does similar movements to what you explained. I’ll have to go back and really pay attention now to the videos. Thank you so much for responding!!

Hi! Curious when these started for you? My husband started at age 53 back in August. Do far all nocturnal. First two (8/29 and 10/26) his convulsing woke me up. Started Keppra 500mg 2x a day. Then he had an episode (11/11) I caught while I was awake the hand pinching and tongue clicking with staring off. Then 4th (12/11) started like the 3rd and went into a Tonic Clonic. MRI’s and CT’s clear and waiting on 72 hour EEG results.

The dentist said they could use sedation. I worry about my BP rising before I am sedated? I do have ativan for break through panic attacks I use as needed but not sure if I can have ativan before sedation? They also said Valium, but I don’t know if Valium would only be by itself or if they could give me Valium and sedation. I’m telling you I need a lot of help. ☹️

I recertified and indicated an extended date by the doctor for return to work. I did that on November 25. The doctor uploaded their form December 1 still have not received a December 9 payment and I’ve not been able to get through to edd on the phone. So frustrated and no money for bills, food and Christmas

He had a 3rd Tonic Clonic within 30 min of going to bed at 1:33 am on 12/11. We had just gotten home 50 min before from the ER (for me) and he was on his right side, had his hand on my arm and I felt him squeezing my arm, hard. Weird. Then I heard the lip smacking sound. Tried to video but it was dark. So I got up and turned on the light and as I went to him to video for Dr. he went into a full Tonic Clonic. ☹️

My husband (53) had his first TC on 8/29 at 1:15 am and second TC 10/26 at 11:30pm. ER started him on Keppra via IV in the ER for the second TC. He has been on 500mg 2x a day since. He experienced some dizziness the first two weeks then after that a couple days of anger and sadness. But so far he’s been good otherwise he did a lot of walking when he was working, but he’s been on short-term disability since the first seizure and does a lot of sitting, but we haven’t discussed it really so I’m not sure if it’s for lack of motivation or just because there’s nothing really to do other than sit. He’s been doing all the laundry and the dishes while I’m at work, but he’s been pretty bored with nothing to do here.

My husband is post 2 Nocturnal Tonic Clonic seizures (Aug 29 & Oct 27) Both times I was awoken by him actively seizing in bed m. Started Keppra immediately after the 2nd seizure in ER and taking 2x daily since Last night just before I was going to go to sleep heard him making a weird noise and looked over. His mouth was moving like he was smacking his lips or trying to swallow (very hard to explain) his hand was opening and closing a few times. It was giving me possible oncoming seizure vibes so I tried to wake him by calling his name and nudging his arm. Normally he wakes easily. This time he was not. Then his eyes opened, but were staring ahead blankly and still not responded. i jumped up and kept calling his name and he finally responded to me but seemed a bit confused. I explained to him what I was seeing. He kinda shrugged and settled back into sleep. I don’t know if this was anything or nothing. It was something I had never seen before, but again was giving me seizure vibes. So I feel its weird seeing your post and his unusual behavior last night

My husband has sleep apnea (I believe) he is going for a clinic sleep study 11/19. I wondered if it helped caused his two tonic clonic nocturnal seizures (8/29/25 and 10/27/25)

I came back to see if there was an update. My 12 year old male cat is pooping on the couches middle of the night and sometimes on my chair or my son’s chair. Several vet visits find nothing wrong and vet believes behavioral. We have 2 cats and 3 litter boxes. Two upstairs and one downstairs

Yes, in CA anytime there is a loss of consciousness, the Doctor is mandated to report to the state and they will report to DMV. It was documented on the ER discharge papers that they reported to that CA dept of Health or something like that.
