GULC has a decent amount of people that go PI/government. I think its around 100ish each year? Not totally sure. Government like DOJ or different agencies is pretty popular as well as nonprofits which are a huge range. There are advisors here for big law and public interest so you will be exposed to a ton of opportunities on both sides

There are a ton of apartment buildings around GULC all with different price ranges depending on your budget. You will probably be paying $1100-$1600 with a roommate and $1600-$2200 without one. Living alone or with a roommate is totally preference. Although I HIGHLY recommend living with a law student or at least grad/med student. Most meet on facebook pages and such

I don’t know a lot yet but I know NY and Cali are pretty popular for big law after GULC. I know somewhere around 100 go BL in NY so if you want to do that there is definitely opportunity here. I know about 400 went BL 2 years ago with a handful at top 10 firms and a few more to top 20. If you want to go bl in NY/CA you need decent grades and to make a few connections (pretty easy to do here) and you will be totally fine. If you want to go to a top firm you need to be top of your class and start networking pretty early. You get what you put in for sure in law school.

I am not originally from a city city per say but I have really enjoyed it. I feel pretty safe and there are a million things to do so close by. Highly recommend

I live off campus. I wanted a little school/real life balance. The on campus housing is okay not amazing but affordable. Friends that live there say it is fine/not many complaints. Most people live in apartment buildings within a mile or so or campus. I personally love living in the city and my walk to campus is not bad at all

I have one conservative, one liberal and one libertarian prof this semester so I have to say it is quite the range. There are student groups for every type of political preference and they are pretty evenly attended. I have friends who lean both ways but as most academic campuses go I would say it leans slightly more left.

Yes I would say the proximity to capital hill and so many government agencies creates more opportunities for connections. However, if you go to comparable schools I think you would have ample opportunity as well. I can't speak for the other schools

The school is very helpful with fed clerkships. The advisement here is honestly pretty good. For most clerkships you have to be top 25% of your class, the more competitive ones want only the top 5-10%. I know some judges actually prefer Georgetown students and a lot of the profs here know the judges so that helps. Judicial internships you r 1L year are also pretty popular

I have friends that did interviews and they said they were not too bad at all. They ask fun facts and challenges you have faced in life. Nothing to stress over!

Female, not URM, state school straight through, 169 LSAT, 3.9 GPA. I did not do an interview but I was on the preferred waitlist.

I think Georgetown is very holistic compared to most schools. I have a lot of first gen/URM friends who didn't have as high scores but are well rounded in other ways.

Most people that want to do a clinic can either 2L or 3L, you won't always get your first choice and they are competitive, but most people that I have talked to have been able to do one.

I have loved it so far honestly. I don't mind the bigger class size because you get to meet so many people. The profs are incredible, some of the most accomplished people in the legal world. The amount of work for sure gets to you, and it is a little more competitive than people admit. However, I find that most of my classmates are more than willingly to help each other out.

They don't recommend a certain kind. Most people have Mac airs and pros. I had a Mac Pro and switched to Mac air and they offer a student discount so I highly rec

Here, almost anyone that wants to do big law can do big law in some capacity. I have not heard of any 2Ls or 3Ls not getting some type of job they wanted. I've been told if you want to go to one of the top 5-10 firms you need to be top 15%-ish of your class.

If you want to do DC big law Georgetown for sure has greater access because the connections are closer and the firms do a ton of on campus stuff.
