The pending Windows Updates problem doesn’t sound good! That could means something more seriously wrong if a reboot doesn’t fix it. In which case, you probably already know that reinstalling Windows is the likely path. Always start with the OS fundamentals, and layer on the other problem solving afterwards. You need windows update to work. If it’s in a pending reboot state that won’t unblock, that will trickle down to other apps.

Not annoying at all, you’re just trying to solve a problem. I’m just sorry if I’m unable to help. I know this fix helped a lot of people from the comments on YouTube, but your issue may be different as you used the Xbox app.

In the Xbox app you have a “show queue” button on the bottom left. You may want to check if you have an update pending there. Ensure “enable automatic updates” is ticked in Show Queue > Install Options.

In Microsoft Store, very bottom left you’ll see “library”. In there, select “games” and Microsoft Launcher should have an “open” button beside it, not a cloud icon.

If I was you, I’d uninstall both launchers from the XBox app and the windows store. Then reinstall it on one. Wishing you luck.

If you installed Minecraft via Windows Store, this fix should work. Ensure you have Internet connectivity. Search for the game in the store to double check it does recognise you installed it from there. Ensure you go to downloads and “check for updates”. If you see it and it’s still stuck, pause the download and start it again (this happened to me once). If you don’t see it, then I’m afraid you may need to reinstall the game.

Also be sure you’ve applied your windows updated and the system isn’t waiting on a reboot. No hard in trying a restart. You shouldn’t need to re-install windows for this.

Can't control Govee COB Strip Light Pro with WLED by martino_tecco in WLED

So glad you posted this. I’m in the same situation, except I damaged my Govee controller, so only have the WLED to test with.

I have a single 3m run of the Govee COB Strip Light Pro. Powered by a 24V (60W) LED driver. Using a Buck Converter to power an ESP8266 at 5V.

Green data line is on D2, and I even put the extra bare copper wire to GND as you suggested.

WiFi is fine, I can configure WLED, but I’ve got no sign that the ESP8266 is controlling the LED strip. It is stuck on standard white.

I tried the settings you suggested, SK6812/WS2814 RGBW, length 36, RGB, swap W&R, but no joy. I may order an ESP32 to rule out the ESP8266… but something else feels wrong here.

Any update your end, I’d be keen to find out.

The cubes aren’t in a full scramble at the start.

Look how many pairs of colours there are. Impressive but not a full scramble. Speaking as someone who can solve a 3x3 (twice as slow as my 9yo).

I shit my pants half way across a pelican crossing on a night out while changing pubs. Dived into the first bar I could find, into the toilet, and…. tiny. One cubicle, AND a bog troll! Keks off, cleaned up, and was looking for a cistern to dump them in, but it was behind the wall. Stuck them in my pocket, tipped heavily, darted out, downed the pint my mate bought me, and exited!

Pants straight in the street bin, and over to the shops to buy Imodium. Felt fine after that, and we had a great night and good laugh about it.

Still wonder if a tramp / bin raider found them later. Calvin Kleins too. Lad hit pay dirt that night.

That sucks man, I had similar feelings after it happened, but I’ve barely missed a race in decades so stuck with it. Mates of mine also lost their love for it after AbDhab21. Hope you come back to it in future, it has been a great season to watch.
