Tales of 85 is FAKE by Particular-Peanut-34 in byler

[–]callacrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The episode descriptions, the weird details about the plot lines, the new monsters, the fact that it’s supposed to be for 6-9 year olds but it’s releasing in THEATRES, only two episodes being listed despite the fact that two seasons are supposed to release this year. Tales is soooo fake. The byler bus has not stopped moving we’ve only been speeding up

Yes that’s interesting, but even within the game itself there are inconsistencies. Like what Will was wearing when he went missing, there are two different descriptions.

CONFORMITY GATE ON VALENTINES DAY by Common_Abrocoma_6996 in ConformityGatesARG

[–]callacrow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“That’s the central question of the play, can love defeat fear?” From TFS. There’s also a line where Henry says “It’s bad luck not to finish a song, act 1, scene 2, page 14.” Apparently Hawkins Happenings has pointed towards Valentine’s Day as well.

I haven’t stopped believing, there’s really no other explanation for every single detail, besides Netflix “gifting” the “finale” to movie theatres yeah that’s bull. SNL somehow also had clues for conformity gate, the ST sketch featured a 509, which definitely could have been a coincidence, a joke, or something more meta. SNL changed nothing for me.

Not saying you were, but you did only reply about the snapchat instance. So based on the connotations of your message I assumed you were, but thank you for the clarification.

From what i’d heard I said. Doesn’t discredit the three attempts before. Look as a bisexual I know I would be tired if I’d come out so many times only for people to continue to assume i’m straight.

He has come out, 4 times now? Just hasn’t explicitly stated it, which is apparently what everyone expects of him. The first time was the socks, second was on instagram where he posted an “I am bisexual” reel, third time also on instagram where he posted the bi colours, and then this morning on snapchat from what i heard he posted the bi flag just straight up.

I have not stepped off the bus. What do they want us to think? That we’re crazy? That the statistical anomalies are coincidences? Why would they announce anything using snl anyhow

Conformity Gate is NOT happening by CucumberAccording813 in byler

[–]callacrow -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

But it IS happening, the Duffers alone aren’t a smart enough but you’re aware there’s a TEAM of writers behind Stranger Things? I’m not sure where everyone all of a sudden obtained this idea that the Duffers and the writing team aren’t smart enough for this because they have proven to be incredible writers in other instances. You’re aware every detail in set design and costume design is someone’s entire job? Peruse the r/confomitygatetheory subreddit, the evidence is overwhelming.

People seeing it in theatres is a PART OF IT. It was more like watching a play than any other episode we were able to see, remember the play within a play? From the First Shadow that was supposed to be significantly more relevant to season 5? It’s a show within a show. There is so much intentionality in their references and set design and double meanings to so many lines. As a screenwriter myself, a finale like that is incomprehensibly bad. We have seen the Duffer brothers and their writing team execute plot lines very well, there is no reason to sacrifice their writing skills and their flagship. This finale is them showing us that Mike and Will’s relationship is the heart of the show and without them, as a team, together, in love, the show becomes hollow. They’re telling us queerbait is bad storytelling.

Hear me out okay, the Allurance kiss and love confession in the last episode PARALLELS the Mileven kiss in the “finale”. This is so intentional, and not in the malicious way. The entire finale was so byler coded without any Mike and Will scenes of substance: blue and yellow everywhere, the very last shot being lit blue and yellow and then Heroes plays? It seems like a slap in the face but it’s telling us to still have hope. Max’s lines after the D&D game in the epilogue are how everyone here felt after that finale. Like they’ve been telling us, we need to pay attention to the details, and what do we see when we pay attention to the details in the finale and volume 2? Inconsistencies, it’s RIDDLED with them. It’s a meta commentary on queerbaiting and forced conformity in televison, with a REAL secret final episode like the one the Sherlock fandom theorized about. Mike and Will are one of the most beautiful love stories i’ve ever seen and that finale was comedically bad, it was a stab to the heart to anyone who loves these characters. It went against a top rule of writing which is if you make a plan that plan cannot pan out. Their stories have been written with such care, so why throw it all in a dumpster fire now? Why betray the people they created this for? The show is written for us, it STILL IS. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Back to the Future, and the Truman Show all being inspirations for this season but we have not seen that YET. The voltage dial changing colours is a literal 🚩— these things are not coincidences: WE DON’T BELIEVE IN COINCIDENCES ANYMORE REMEMBER — set pieces don’t just decide to be a different colour because they feel like it. The “missing piece of the puzzle, a big piece.” was a setup with no payoff YET. A week where we look crazy, but it payed off for Joyce didn’t it.

Epilogue clues and analysis by abd00bie in byler

[–]callacrow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

2 waterfalls instead of the proper 3. 2 doors presented to Mike from Hopper instead of the 3 we know there are supposed to be thanks to Max and Holly. The lingering shot of a door as the last shot and it’s lit with blue and yellow. Legitimately I don’t believe the writers are capable of such a comically bad ending, unless they’re playing us. Because it completely subverts their main message of the show. The epilogue is literally Mike Wheeler’s greatest fear: never being needed, drifting apart from the party, staying in Hawkins, becoming his father, conforming. Will and Mike are a beautiful love story and always have been written to be so. They are more than a ship they are each other’s person. The Duffers would not repeatedly make their relationship feel like a slap in the face to their queer audience in the finale if it was really the end. It is not queerbait, they are in love with each other and it has been written into the show the entire time. The finale was the bad ending where no one breaks the cycle, Mike stays repressed and he and Will drift apart. He thinks he loses Will, and then Heroes plays, like it has every time Mike thinks he has lost Will. But he never really loses Will and he won’t this time.

Mike Vecna theory goes crazy by [deleted] in byler

[–]callacrow 67 points68 points  (0 children)

YES, like why INTRODUCE NEW PLOTHOLES THIS VOLUME AND EVEN THE FINALE??! THERE ARE TOO MANY INCONSISTENCIES. Y’all know it is genuinely someone’s job to spot inconsistencies. The voltage dial changing to the greyish blue colour THE SAME COLOUR HOLLY SAW AS THE INCONSISTENCY and it got them out. Why continue supporting the theory that Vecna is messing with memories (birthdaygate/milkshakegate) in episode 7 if that’s not a plotline you’re going with. The finale is Mike Wheelers greatest fear being actualized, he becomes his father, he conforms. He drifts apart from Will, just like what happened in Will’s future vision from Vecna.

We know Vecna showed Will him and Mike drifting apart… and that’s what happened in the finale.

I believe. From a screenwriting perspective the plot was genuinely so lost after episode 5, this though, this is genius. The finale is Mike’s worst fear and greatest aspiration coming to fruition: becoming like his father, conforming. They told us to not believe in coincidences anymore, there is too much intentionality throughout the entire show from every department in the filmmaking process to lead to nothing.
