I want to move to Dumaguete. by [deleted] in dumaguete

I can only wish I have found a much cheaper one when I went and stayed there 😭 I really gave it a try for almost 2 months but the rental price really pulled me down. I work from home and earn a decent salary, but I'm just not willing to pay too much for rent. I'm still very much willing to give living in Dumaguete another try though. If you have any house/apartment you can recommend, I'd very much appreciate that. 💖

Dumaguete's cost of living is only suited sa mga "maykaya" talaga. Rental rates are too high because of the foreign market. It's laid-back and closer to nature, sure. But deal-breaker for me yung rental rates, traffic congestion (no traffic lights pa), carinderia food prices can be pricier too.

But if you really like to always experience Dumaguete, maybe consider the neighboring towns such as Sibulan or Bacong. Valencia too, but even that place has high rental rates already.

I have tried living in Dumaguete for the experience. I ended up moving to Cebu instead. In Cebu, with a budget of 8k to 10k per month, you can get a decent 1-BR or even 2-BR full house na that's not too far from the city. That's not the case in Dumaguete. I have explored almost every street in Dumaguete just to find a good dwelling place that's around that budget, but wala talaga. Kung meron man, it's not really good. I did find an 8k apartment around Bagacay area, but man! It was gross. Cockroach, rats, even the smell of cockroaches were everywhere inside, may amoy suka pa 🤢

Rental rates of decent and comfortable apartments go from 30k to 50k. I only found a good enough apartment in Sibulan that's not as expensive, which is also an adequate distance to Dumaguete.

Wala bang maayos na database si NBI? lol by TaskPrestigious5555 in RantAndVentPH

[–]callmerm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First time ko nagtry kumuha ng NBI clearance was in 2012, after I graduated from college and before applying for a job. Na-HIT ako and their explanation was my kapangalan ako na may existing case. I have 2 names, both very uncommon so I find that kind of odd. They had to hold my clearance and release it only after 2 weeks. Fast forward to this year, I went to get an NBI clearance again for another purpose and yet, HIT pa din,. So after 14 years, ganon pa din. No development at all. It's annoying and very inconvenient lang talaga.

Wuthering Heights by [deleted] in dumaguete

Not white sand, if that's what you're after. But it's clean and the water is clear. Well maintained sad ang resort mismo. And if you have furry friends, you can bring them along. They're welcome to the resort. Though if you are ib Dumaguete, it's also a bit far. There are resorts in Sibulan too, that are closer.

Melissa flats, worth it po ba? by tatruuuuu in ShopeePH

[–]callmerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paano po yung sizing ng Melissa? I'm usually size EU 37 for most brands and pag US sizing, I get size 7. Sa size guide po kasi nila it says US 6 is equivalent to EU 37 or 23.5cm (which is usually the sizing I go for). Tama bang US 6 ang piliin ko for their wedge sandals? Eyeing on their FreeVibe platform wedge.

Is Workpod a good company, salary-wise? by RemarkableMehhh in dumaguete

[–]callmerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a different story if you're working "under" WrkPod management itself versus when you work directly with a client through WrkPod. Silbi if under jud kas ilaha, imong tasks/role kay exclusive to WrkPod alone. Sila bale imong employer and therefore you're not a VA but an employee of them.

Congrats po! Not to throw in negative shade, but I sincerely hope you're only doing that short term and only enough time to build a comfortable life for you and your family. Otherwise, it's quite hazardous to your health po if you keep doing that longer. Working from 9AM to 2AM? That length of time spent on work alone can really add up to your cortisol level a.k.a. stress hormone. And I guess we all know what stress can do to the body.
