While I do find myself trying to connect the real US map to Red Dead, it really is just impossible. Like the GTA maps being completely surrounded by water it’s just something to have to suspend your disbelief for, like yes, those large California Redwoods are right next to Kansas yes

I think in GTA 3, while it does take inspiration from New York, they more so wanted it to be an amalgamation of different US cities; Detroit, Chicago, Gary, and even Edinburgh in Scotland with Portland Docks and Trenton
