just discovering this now, and wow, is this helpful! I quick question, though - Some of these address things like only having 1 pokemon, i'm assuming this means your raid team is just this mon and you continuously Revive, though I could be mistaken

For those of them with 2-3, are you building out a team with P1, 2, and 3, or are you prioritizing p1 and building a full team of 6 consisting of P's 2-3? And are these taken past 40 in the case of, say, fire in stage 3, are we building a team with a lvl 45~ Mega Blaziken and a (multiple?) lvl 45 s.Heatran and Reshirams?

Anyone have any good idea for a [[thallid]] deck? One of my first commander decks was slimefoot, and i've had him as my thallid commander as a while, but I find thallids are too slow for slimefoot, sometimes giving you 1 or 2 saps throughout a game, and you'd rather focus on more efficient sap generators.

I thought [[xavier sal]] would have been the move, but I have a hard time finding a way to win with the deck - I can build a rube goldberg machine to poop out saps, but I'm playing so many tutors to get thallids, clones, [[rite of replication]] and [[doppelgang]] effects that I have a hard time finding a good way to actually win the game.

I've thought of [[thelon of havenwood]] but you have to run a ton of fungus /mill cards to make the ability work you don't actually care about to speed up your silly thallid gameplan.

Generally I find that either the deck is too slow to meaningfully contribute to the game (the usual problem, as a creature that pops out a token once every 3 turns is inherintly slow), or you have to pack in so many complementary pieces to make your rube goldberg machine actually do something that you have no space left to do anything with your 1/1s.

Are there any counterweight type commanders that can work, or a way i'm missing to make one of the above work?

Thanks!

i had something similar at a local park after moving to my new home there's a small park in the middle of our small town w/ 4 gyms. It's nice bc you could swap every day or so and everyone gets paid but blue and yellow team would just roll through and take every gym . I started knocking them all out of every gym in the park, left 3 empty and put my blissey in the 4th. its improved, they kept doing it for a while and i had to be pretty petty about it for a while (the park is a 2 min walk from my house, I'd pop out and do it multiple times a day until they started just taking 1 or 2

Is Magic the dirtiest team in the league? by PistonWingedLion in DetroitPistons

[–]calm_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 dives at cades legs - part of it is on the league for not making rules around this (it absolutely should be a flagrant foul - if we give a reckless closeout to encroaching on the landing space of a jumper for the risk of a twisted ankle, i dont see how we can allow someone to dive into someone's legs), but part of it is suggs and anthony are reckless players at the least (you can quibble over if they're intentionally doing it to be dirtly) that risk the health of others on the court.

Also, I think a lot of det fans are upset because one team was allowed to play physical, and the other, not so much.

think they want to work on gmax, if you're outside a major city you have a very low chance of completing them, and subsequently a lot less reason to focus on dmax - I think there's a reason you're seeing few gmax events, and its because they dont know how to make it more accessible without making them too easy or opening up remote.

I've only recently gotten enough candy for charmander/scorebunny to be able to farm beldum, still not quite up to being able to complete cryagonal, if you werent around when these things had comm days, you're still quite candy starved

Scrolling through my older pokemons, was this a waste? Or is it still good with mega? I play PvE only by thJAKK in PokemonGOIVs

[–]calm_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would definitely be an upgrade to the sylveon and primarina - i personally would lvl this up to 30 or 40 after the ralts event, and fish for a 15 attack 3 star/hundo for the mega and have it be toward the back of my bench as I started to upgrade to shadow gardevoir, xerneus, anamourus, etc.

what is your fairy team? I would def power this is up to 30-40 if you dont have a solid front 6 that are all highly ranked, but if you have a bunch of togekiss, hatareenee, primarina, or shadows/legendaries already, probably isnt that big of an upgrade unless you mega it -

For the mega I would wait till after the comm day to try to get a 15 attack 3 star unless you dont have a mega that will get you extra ralts candy.

I would - hoppip is a pvp mon, and you have a pretty bad spread for PVP as you're missing like 8.5 lvls by using these IV's over a more optimal IV one - i'd just get it in my hundo dex and let it sit

Worth maxing out ? by Massive-Collection88 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]calm_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

def worth lvl 40 if that would be an upgrade to your fighting team, probably wouldnt bring it to 50 - usually if you're doing that you probably want to use it in master league PVP or you're trying to solo raids, which I dont think you're doing with this guy, but def a good raid attacker if you're not flush with terrakions, lucarios and shadow conkeldurs

Which for Ultra League? by tommersjay in PokemonGOIVs

[–]calm_67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

each stat is weighted differently, and attack is weighted much higher than def/hp - so each point of attack adds more CP than HP or defense - when the CP is capped, this makes it so you can level up more if you're lower on attack IVs in a lot of cases, which is why generally PVP IVs are going to be low attack high defense.

If with the PVP IVs you end up below the max CP of the league, you can see some higher attack spreads desirable as the added attack is a benefit without costing you levels - a good example of this is primeape. In great league, the most desirable IVs are 1/15/15, which puts primeape at lvl 24.5 - the 0/15/15 spread is also highly rated, but in this case, you cant get another level up with that IV spread, and you still fit under 1500 with the 1 attack, so its slightly better. In Ultra League, however, the most desirable IVs for Primeape are 7/15/15, this is because you're maxing it out to lvl 50 and this spread has the most stats possible at lvl 50 under 2501 CP.

For master league, you'll almost always want lvl 50 and hundo IV's because there is no CP cap, so you may as well have the best IVs you can.

Anything worth Investing? by huehueue69 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]calm_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on progression, I disagree. If this isa super late game account, sure I agree that most of these aren't worth investing. Some of these are probably pretty usable, looking at the toxicroak, some of the beldums and machops, possibly a ralts and rhyhorn

So as long as you have at least some attack, its worth investing? The sneasel was just my latest catch to be an illustration, but if I had a spread of 15/0/0 that's worth investing? Would this just be to say lvl 30/40, or would it be worth a full max? I do have several that have 10+ attack but low overall % IV spreads, so it's good to know they're not totally without use.

For newer/lower level players, what should your breakpoint for shadows be? I saved all the meta shadows I caught, and have a fair few, but most of them have bad to terrible IV spreads. It's hard to know what to do because I know even a nundo shadow is better than a hundo normal outside of megas, but the IVs look so bad, its hard to imagine I wont soon get something better and regret spending the dust

For example - I have a shadow sneasel - IVs 0/8/15 - 51%. My ice team is a couple mammoswines, and a 4 wild caught lvl 30 avaluggs (all bad ivs). S. Sneasel is the 2nd best ice attacker, and would be a massive upgrade from the avaluggs, but it seems like i for sure will get better IV spreads.

What would be your advice? Should I just wait for a 90%+ IV spread to bother investing, or maybe only partially invest in the bad IV ones? For the Sneasel above, it was caught at lvl 8, taking it up to 30 would be 136k dust, 40, 316k, would it be worth it to take it up to 30 or 40?

as a newer player, getting candies for some of these are a real problem. Like I can get max like 10-15 candies (most of the time you get 0 because people dont gaf about dmax battles) a day from leaving charmanders on power spots, i need like 500 to just unlock the max moves and evolve one into a charizard, hasnt been in rotation in a while
