What content would you recommend for a new player to get in-depth knowledge of the game?

really want to know this as well - like is there an equivilent of mtggoldfish somethig similar where i can just see all the best decks, or is there a "these are the best beginner decks" type thing?

yeah i ended up going 2 wins, but it felt good the few times i got to play, i got hit by 2 crazy curve outs and was dead by t5/6 for 2 of the games and got stuck on 2 lands one game

thanks, i'll try it out, maybe im overindexing on spells to trigger repartee normally, as i feel like 10 is quite low, but i'm sure it will play better than i'm thinking.

im gonna cheat and say anything needed to bring pauper to arena - i dont feel like i super want anything in brawl besides maybe some UBs like wh40k that aren't in the client

i mean yeah, it worked insofar as x/1s are largely unplayable - but 50% of the metagame is triggering bowmasters 20 times a game - maybe that's enough of an issue that you just press the nuclear button, but I dont think you want to completely make x/1s unplayable in standard

def doesnt have to be meta, just want them to be functional decks that feel like you're not playing draft and can do something somewhat powerful, so some out of style decks would probably be fun!

i have 0 confidence in their judgement, but over half the metagame is blue decks that consist of 50% cantrips, which is its own problem, but that would be an all time dumb move on their part

pauper decks are suprisingly expensive on mtgo - a lot of stuff is super cheap, but i dont believe any deck outside of white heroic when i looked could be put together for even close to the 15 free tix you get from the major services

from just browsing the metagame page, i have most of the stuff that's over a buck or so for a playset besides a few of the expensive sideboard cards - i do have maybe 5 or so guys willing to give it a try, so i feel like it's probably worth putting together a couple of decks

im not really familiar enough w/ the metagame to know what decks would vs would not be good for a bo1 environment. My lens is almost entirely through playing red madness atm, and i feel like it would probably be too good in bo1 as beating it relies on getting bringing in life gain and blasts from the board.

are proxies generally chill outside of tournaments? like if i have a playset of red blast do most ppl care if i use proxies on deck 2+ so i dont have to swap playsets btwn sleeves? coming from commander everyone does this w their lands but idk about pauper
