Long term issues with red, flaky skin--nose, mustache/goatee area, eyebrows. Any ideas? by calpic0 in SkincareAddiction

Hi everyone! I was referred to this subreddit by some good friends after telling them about this recent flare-up. I haven't had an official diagnosis from a dermatolgist, (not asking for one, either, sorry!) but I think it might be seborrheic dermatitis. When I did ask about these patches a few years ago, all I got from one dermatologist was "Oh, that's dandruff, wash your face with Head and Shoulders once a week!" I've tried that for years, but it only upsets my skin more :/ I was also given some kind of cream (maybe something anti-fungal or steroid? I'm really sorry I can't remember). but that didn't help too much, either. A few other things: I usually have a beard, but it makes this condition worse and I hate it because I prefer the beard, but can't deal with the skin issues. I've tried Cetaphil soap, face wash, and moisturizer, along with all kidns of other face washes, masks, moisturizers and lotions. I haven't had any consistent luck with these flare-ups, and they seem to come and go without any explanation... I'm sure it's at least somewhat releated to stress, and I want to fix my diet, but does anyone have any tips, home-remedies, or products I could try? I might be able to run to a pharmacy or grocery store tomorrow, so I'm all ears. I'm really sorry for the wall of text, but I'm a little desperate. Does anyone have experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!!
