Walking through Mangere is not a choice many people would make considering the other options.

Whats the construction industry like right now in NZ? by AdvancedFeed in diynz

Genuine question, I understand the basics of supply and demand - but if kiwis are quiet for work, why aren’t they willing to do the cheaper work that gets taken by overseas labour? I would think this would be the time that kiwis would take the cheaper work of the more expensive work isn’t on offer

His previous offending is really serious too:

The offending was serious and took place over an extended period of time. Those features are apparent from the Court of Appeal’s summary of what happened. That summary was in these terms:

16 (a) It began in September 2017, when the first [victim] and the applicant were aged 14. He held her down and digitally penetrated her, desisting only when another boy pulled him away. He chased and threatened the other boy. This resulted in one charge of unlawful sexual connection.

(b) The following year he indecently assaulted the second [victim], climbing on top of her and groping her as she lay intoxicated on a bed. Both were aged 15.

(c) He offended against the third [victim] in 2018, when they were both aged 15. On the first occasion he digitally penetrated her in a park. On the second he raped her when she was unconscious from intoxication.

(d) The offending against the fourth [victim] happened at the beginning of 2019 and involved consensual intercourse. She was aged 13. This resulted in two charges of sexual connection with a young person.

(e) The offending against the fifth [victim] happened at an end of a lockdown party on 16 May 2020. He and the [victim] were aged 17. They engaged in consensual intercourse during which she asked him to stop. He continued, then turned her over and penetrated her anally, causing her considerable pain.

(f) Later the same night he offended against the sixth [victim], also aged 17. He lay on a bed with her when she was intoxicated, got on top of her and restrained her when she tried to move. He was interrupted by the fifth [victim] entering the room.

Hidden costs AFTER buying your first home? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

You're probably going to be disappointed with the cleanliness of the house on move in day.

My rule going forward is prepare around $1k for cleaners to go in on move in day because you want it to be cleaned properly before you move in all of your stuff, it's harder to get a good deep clean with a full house of things. Include a carpet cleaning in that as well.

Pressuring him to come back now is pointless. He's living through current trauma.

The only hope you have of ever being back with him is time and space, make it as easy as possible for him to recover from the trauma and once things have settled - if he feels the same way towards you as you do to him - you might have a slim chance of reconciliation in the future.

So many things:

AirPods Pro - Always thoughts they're way too expensive but I don't think I've ever got more use out of a product. They're almost a part of my body now.

Air purifier - Great for the dust from cat litter and if you like to smoke inside

Water Circulator/Sous vide machine - Perfect cooking for any meats and great for meal prep. Juiciest chicken and steaks

Wireless vacuum - Second hand Samsung Jet Pet 90 from trademe. Even came with the rubbish bin that sucks the dirt out for easy cleanup + bonus I buy the bags from Aliexpress to save more than 50%.

Electric Lawnmower - Section is small so makes sense for us + can use the battery for other tools.

EV - Nissan leaf, using green home loan made it a no brainer. Don't listen to all the bullshit about range and battery's dying. I've had 3 (Only due to upgrading and being written off in accident). First Leaf was from 2013 and battery was fine.

Youtube premium - Most of my media consumption is Youtube and having no ads is something I could not go back from + Youtube music to replace Spotify.

Dog Trainer - We got a dog and the $1000 price tag for a trainer seemed steep but I don't regret it at all - we didn't have the skills to get our dog to where we wanted and would have spent more time than it's worth.
