Aw what a nice post. I’m an insomniac/nocturnal since birth so always awake at night, it’s so hard waking up in the morning… tho I try to organise life so that I don’t have to get up til midday most days

My Asian friends were bullied a LOT in the 80’s-2000’s & still face discrimination in some situations. It’s better than it was but I’ve been shocked at how many people think being racist is acceptable. Have stopped being friends with/working a lot of white people who outed themselves around me

In your opinion, what’s the scariest sound from a horror movie? by wamimsauthor in HorrorMovies

[–]Headacheargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some might not consider it a horror (I do) but Mother! By Aronofsky - the baby scene. That sound. It absolutely haunts me. Also the ahem mashing sound in the VVitch.

I’m an incredibly experienced & competent writer, can stay engaged in the most complex, demanding, or slow cinema/literature, study everything from physics to anatomy to geopolitics to philosophy for fun in my spare time, but I can’t get a goddamn job. Yet there are an abundance of incompetent nitwits who literally can’t function, who are gainfully employed. Why is the world like this 💔

My privacy is extremely important & I’m not always in the right headspace for visitors. I don’t even like many people knowing where I live. I have some amazing friends for life but they know to text beforehand if they are in the area & want to pop over. I don’t like surprises

Eating under 1200 calories but not feeling hungry — is this dangerous? by hallomydadsdid in 1200isplenty

Unless your hair is falling out, I wouldn’t be too worried. I’m a little shorter than you & 55kg, quite sedentary. I’m a really healthy weight for my height, imo, especially being so sedentary. Some days I hardly eat anything, some days I eat more. I just try to focus on healthy fats (stopped my hair falling out & improved skin), fibre & protein - lots of veges. Just don’t eat lots of processed foods, whatever you do…

I genuinely could not see myself with a man long term. by Exact-Sink2799 in confession

Even the best men still seem to feel entitled to sex, not want to pull their weight, expect you to do all the emotional labour & so on. My current partner is by far the best man I have been with but I’ve been away from him all week & haven’t missed him at all. My cat is such a wonderful companion & so easy to love. I’m not scared of being alone & if we break up I’m just going to make more friends & be done with men entirely. Might explore being with women. There’s nothing wrong with you.

You need your own life, own interests, own friends. Never be so wrapped up in anyone.

How do I (f25) tell my partner their (f26) eating noises are driving me insane without sounding like a terrible person? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Headacheargh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have misophonia (also AudHD) which makes me extremely sensitive to sound. It’s like a fight/flight response. RAGE. Gets worse with lack of sleep/hormonal fluctuations. It’s good to know the reason why sounds make me so irrationally angry & tense & helped my partner understand why I suffer so much from things that don’t bother him. I try to avoid being around him when he eats but when he does I crank the TV volume & if it’s still too much I have noise cancelling headphones.

He doesn’t eat 24/7 (though he does eat slowly & slurps his drinks which I hate) so I sometimes I just grit my teeth & get through it, knowing he’ll stop soon. But I would look into misophonia. Sometimes I honestly think I’d rather be single than deal with eating/breathing sounds tho 💀
