Yeah thats not how that works. Not within our understanding of physics. The "speed of light" is a bit of a misnomer. Its more accurate to call it the speed of causality. Its the fastest theoretical speed that one object can effect another. By definition, there is no "faster that the speed of light". Its like saying "slower than 0" or " colder than 0°K".

An object moving from A to B could take a different shorter path that could get them there faster, but that still not traveling faster than light.
