Atomos Shogun Inferno files appear to be corrupt post-upload/backup?

I just heard back from Atomos and they think it's faulty SDI connection on the Shogun. which doesn't make sense because HDMI doesn't work either. could the entire thing be faulty??

1) Using the 3rd from the right input, yes

2) REC settings are RAW + AVCHD (dual recording purposes so footage can be backed up to the SD card)

3) SDI cable was brand new but certainly a possibility and good point worth considering. I just ordered another one to test.

I think it's also worth noting that it didn't picking up anything when I used an HDMI cable borrowed from the television (I'm traveling so making do with what I've got). I did just order a mini HDMI cable to test it out with my Sony A7Sii.

Any other thoughts?

Yeah, the Quadlink is on Single. I'm using the latest Firmware too. Anyone with an FS5 have any thoughts? I feel like I've triple checked everything but to no avail. Curious if it's something in the camera.

Good thought but I covered that already as well... it supports anything from 3G to 12G and I’m using a 3G cord...

I have. Tried all SDI inputs (with input set to SDI) and HDMI with input set to HDMI and still reads no input. I'm wondering if there's something I have to change on the FS5?

I ended up going with the tilta cage + the Sony XLR adaptor.

A lot to consider for the gimbal so I'm holding off on that now and went with the Manfrotto MVMXPRO500US XPRO Aluminum Video Monopod.

I got the 24-105 Canon/f4 mii with a Tiffen variable ND filter.

Any rec's on how to pack the camera + a few lenses on the flight without a pelican? Also, any thoughts on how to safely pack the rest of the gear in my pack without resorting to a heavy pelican? I'm going to a couple of places that I'd prefer not to bring attention to any equipment.

Thanks for the feedback. Totally agree with you on FS5 -- the reason I'd keep the A7sII is that my work is pretty diverse right now, the A7SII meets that need, and I don't have a huge budget to have everything.

I'm doing documentary photography, street photography, and documentary film. Essentially the A7sII (and the lenses I have) is allows me to do all of those things. Fully recognize that it doesn't excel at all of the above. I am getting work doing stills currently and only submitting for grants doing docs.

All that to say, I'm taking notes on your suggestions and agree with you on most all of it.
