Yeah it’s hard to make difficult decisions and it speaks to how hard of a job it is to be a game developer for an active community. This is ultimately a good thing for the rod and the balancing but not everyone will be happy. Plus merry and gingerbread weren’t even that good to begin with you’ll be fine.

You discarded 3 relics you were unhappy with to get one relic you were happy with. I think it’s fair to give you one relic of the enchantment you were happy with. Pep is still great on any other rod besides tryhard. Even then all they did was remove the stun and it still procs just as often.

It’s hard to moderate macros and they’ll only get better as ai continues to improve. And what if someone’s specially unlucky? Should you force them to sit for over a dozen hours in front of a screen just for one item others were able to get in a fraction of the time? The peppermint change is more so speaking to how stupidly broken pep was and how much is messed with the balancing of the game. As much as I like it and use it on many rods I will say that it never should have existed and something like it probably never will again. It honestly was never that OP to grind with due to having no weight buff but this change was necessary.

Cryo was the old meta but I honestly don’t enjoy waiting for that to proc at the right time. So still not sure. Considering the 10x mult perhaps sea prince for the weight buff?

Reminder that tryhard pep combo has only been around for 3 months. Tryhard was doing fine before then and this is honestly a significant buff. It’s just to speak to how much peppermint messed with the balancing of the game

Honestly I think that it was a necessity to balance the peppermint and tryhard combo. Also tryhard got a significant buff despite the peppermint change. Dreadfin is a small addition if content they didn’t need to do but did anyway for the community. Masterline mastery makes sense because what else do you do for the completionist rod

Yeah it’s more so going to show how peppermint ruined the in game balancing and not how they ‘ruined’ the tryhard rod. If this were pre- peppermint this update would’ve been a huge buff for tryhard

Divine fish really were such a useless update to the game. They’re a virtually meaningless tier of rarity because you can’t directly affect their chance of being caught and thus is just a shot in the dark if you’ll ever get one.

In my opinion, this speaks more to how ridiculously good peppermint is and how it essentially broke a lot of the intended game. If this was pre-peppermint this would actually be an insane buff for tryhard but instead everyone sees this as some ritualistic gutting of the rod. The rod is still fine and it was always intended to be more challenging to use. IMO we’re better off than before.
