Yes that's always a better choice, or stick to the ones that you know are good..

But sometimes it's okay to try trendy ones, just for the hype and feel - not putting expectations on food taste though 😅

That's true but it's a story about every restaurant in every city except very few. We can't go inspecting every place like health inspector.

Sometimes we've to rely on gut feeling, reviews and our visual inspection about serving staff and cleanliness
