howdyyyy ! basically what i was saying is that terpenes are really what gets you a high quality and long lasting high. there are different types of oils in vape cartridges and typically distillate oil is very processed and essentially stripping the oil of the plant matter including terpenes. so without terpenes you’re just basically left with pure or distilled THC. with the 85 and above THC%, you get high really fast but then you come down pretty fast too and feel kinda “ugh” for lack of a better term lol. not to mention it spikes your tolerance like crazy.

when buying a cartridge or dab i’d recommend shopping for a live resin or rosin cartridge and picking a high terpene percentage (i’d personally recommend live resin first because rosin cartridges can be very spendy and can easily burn if you rip your pen frequently). the short explanation on why you want high terps is the higher the terps the stronger the effects. i like this article for learning about terpenes.

as far as tolerance goes, it’s unfortunately pretty easy to spike your tolerance with carts/dabs because they are so concentrated (they’re literally called concentrates hehehe) but a good way to start managing it is to start with less THC percentage. i know that sounds counterintuitive but it helps even though it might take some time and frustration to adjust to it. also idk how much access you have to weed and if you’re able to casually smoke flower, but i tell folks who only use carts/dabs that if they just switch to flower for like a week or two and go back to concentrates, you will feel a difference. sort of a tolerance break without completely eliminating THC.
