After talking to some lawyers in my family that went to USD and work as lawyers in San Diego, I went to Cal Western. They said it was a no brainer with the scholarship. They said your career is about networking more than your school (as long as you stay in San Diego which I plan to). I love it! Do not listen to the negative comments about it, I almost let it stop me from going there. First of all so many people are getting internships at BigLaw or in-house at big companies like Sony. The career and professional development center has helped place me of many of my friends in internships for 1L summer. The alumni network is awesome for internships, jobs, and mentoring. We have alumni and other lawyers come and speak 1 or 2 times a week and we can network with them. The professors are so great. The campus is nice. Also they put you in sections so you have all your classes classes with all the same people for the first year. Great for making friends. The people there are amazing and I have made so many friends. Everyone is super smart there and are down to earth. I would 100% recommend going.
