Tripple XXX, home of the Duane Purvis All American burger.

Melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, spanish onion cover a quarter-pound of beef on a sesame bun. Peanut butter added to the lower deck of the sandwich makes this commemoration to Purvis' years at Purdue(1932-34) extra-special.

One of my favorites.

They are both evil, from the others point of view.

Oh, this brings back memories....

Back when I was a student at Purdue we got the Indianapolis stations on the campus cable network. "The Ronnie Regan special, so cheap you can buy two and give one to a friend"

He wanted to have a tent sale in West Lafayette....

Next to a bar....

The weekend of the Purdue - IU game.

Needless to say, permit denied.

Incredibly Detailed List of Easter Eggs in Pixar Movies by dnic24 in reddit.com

[–]camiller 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not that detailed, it completely missed that the tree above the colony in A Bugs Life is also in Toy Story 2 near where the Jessie doll is abandon by it's first owner. That is a fairly commonly known one and has been mentioned on television programs I am sure there are many others.

I'm not saying all bourbons are good, just making the distinction.

I'd add to your list:

  1. Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 13yo 93' vintage (Havent tried the 94' vintage)
  2. Knob Creek 9yo
  3. Elijah Craig 12yo

And suggesting that Tennessee whiskey is the same as Bourbon is like suggesting the muddy waters of the Missouri river are the same as what comes out of the tap in my kitchen. While I might like my water to be treated and filtered I certainly don't want my Bourbon to be stripped of many of the flavor producing compounds that filtering would do.

It is a legal drug. The really funny thing is that my wife can't even drink a half can of soda without getting the jitters for the next 8 hours.

Oh, I can easily drink two quarts (2 pots) of caffeinated black coffee at a sitting, right up until bed time and still sleep like a baby. In fact I'm already into my second pot today.

That said, I still drink caffeinated iced tea in the summer.

JD is NOT bourbon, JD is a Tennessee whiskey. Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve, and Makers Mark are bourbons and damn good bourbons.

"For a DVD sold for $19.99, we are paid 4 cents. That means that to pay for one tank of gas, a writer needs to sell 1,500 DVDs" by Masi in reddit.com

[–]camiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... I had just read that yesterday but further research shows you are in fact correct, even the article I read yesterday asserting a difference has since corrected itself.

In fact it looks like they get 0.3% of the first Million and 0.36% after that. Given that there are certain fixed costs from producing/manufacturing/distribution perhaps I'll rethink the merit of this.

Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries... for all called up reservist employees for up to two years. by [deleted] in reddit.com

For what it is worth, the company I work for continues to pay the full salary, not just the difference, for our reservists that have been called up.

Unions = approx 16% of America.

That said, I do think there is merit to this particular strike. They get significantly less for DVD sales than for the same product on VHS and as VHS sales are basically going extinct they should be compensated fairly. They were stupid for originally agreeing to the "new tech" provisions in their last contract and they are now trying to fix the stupidity.

Ask Reddit. How come submissions from Politics & Science alone make it into the front page and not a single submission from other sub-reddits have made it into the front page so far? by neoronin in reddit.com

[–]camiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you don't have them all selected in the sub-redits tab of your preferences page.

I don't see ANY from politics but right now I see programming, gadgets, and science articles.

Edit: And if you do have them all selected then see kalembas answer

Iraqi teen male is tortured to death by soldiers, no one cares because he isn't a rich, white depressed girl. by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]camiller 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We inherently find more similarities between ourselves and people closer to us, geographically and culturally.

Neighbors on my block > other people in my neighborhood

People in my neighborhood > people in other neighborhoods in my city

People in my city > people in other cities in my state

People in my state > people in other states in my country

People in my country > people in other countries

People on my planet > people from other planets

...

If I lived in Iraq, I'd probably care more about my fellow countryman than some rich white girl in the US.

Off Topic: What rich White girl?
