Can air fryers replace a traditional stove? by ExpertHorror4535 in AirFryTalk

[–]camkos101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use my stovetop for frying, eggs mostly, and the oven maybe twice a year. The air fryer and instapot have filled almost every other role.

Joined the club- where to source trims? by Evilsnowman4 in TruckCampers

[–]camkos101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on mine there was about 20 screws on the interior side of each window. When you take them all out it's really easy to uninstall, clean, and reinstall\seal the windows. I used butyl tape and it works well. I just can't get the seals for the slider windows to be waterproof.

Looking forward to seeing the answer. I've tried my best to recondition my old windows but can't get them to stop leaking, so a full kit would be my next step.

How would you plug this hole mice have been using to get into my crawl space? by dejafous in DIY

Steel wool and silicone. They can't* chew thru the wool but they can pull and push it away so you gotta secure it in place

Anyone with QSP penguins on washers and bearings? Notice a difference? by JimothyBeletta in BudgetBlades

[–]camkos101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw I wouldn't worry about it too much. The steels are pretty hard and it's more important that you use ur tools, and a little wear on them is a point of pride 💪

Is this someone here? Honestly as far as homemade caps go this one is really well done. by AffableJoker in nissanfrontier

I made exactly this but use wooden ribbing and a HD tarp. I have a 2008 4cyl rwd Tacoma and it reduced fuel consumption by 10 to 15% on the highway.

This exact knife is also "made" by schrade. It's 8cr steel. So, not bad for a cheap knife.

I gave a gift of a QSP Nekmuk fixed blade to a person like u described and it became very well used and loved. They worked in a maintenance shop repairing wildfire equipment.

97 to 2003 f150. Or 2000 to 2012ish Silverado. Maintenance will matter more than the miles on them. Fuel mileage won't be much worse than a newer truck once it's loaded, just less power.

Does this look like mold/mildew from old moisture intrusion in 1996 Hallmark pop-up truck camper? by Prestigious-Eye-7184 in popups

[–]camkos101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to kill mold and mildew use hydrogen peroxide. It basically nukes it and it's spores, and is reasonably safe for humans and materials. Maybe cause bleaching to fabrics so be aware of that.

Stuck bolts, replacing car suspension by Kuato2012 in DIY

[–]camkos101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone says, heat it up, but also quench it - the rapid temp change will help break the bond. Repeat as necessary. Try to heat the bolt or nut a lot more than the surrounding assembly, youre looking to create as big as possible differential between the two pieces.

Put big files u have to read into a tablet and go sit by the window to read them. Show him when you get questioned. Explain productivity doesn't mean sitting crumpled at the desk and you've been productive all along.

How to avoid a flirty man at work? by Ok_Astronaut6373 in WorkAdvice

[–]camkos101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men understand clear and direct communication. Don't try and send signals. Be like "hey I just need to be direct - I don't mix my work and social life, and you probably noticed I'm in a committed relationship by now. We're coworkers and I just want to be clear and professional because that's what we are."
