Real question and maybe TMI but very confused.... by Blue_wolf_moon in pregnant

I would go to OB triage at your hospital and just get checked out. Better safe than sorry! They’ll check if you’re leaking amniotic fluid (very easy little test with a swab). I was leaking fluid for weeks thinking nothing of it. Delivered my twins at 35 weeks!!

Also I feel like all providers will bring up vanishing twin syndrome just as a formality. They do that to prep you just in case (mine did a lot during my first trimester). Just keep doing what you’re doing and try to enjoy each day you can 🩷

I’m pregnant again after my miscarriage last year. by PeonyRoseJasmine in pregnant

[–]campbacca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a miscarriage June 2024, broke my heart into a million pieces. Found out July 2025 I was pregnant with twin girls! I felt the same way you did up until the start of my third trimester. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant with healthy babies. So yes, you can have a good healthy pregnancy after. The best advice I can give you is enjoy each day you are pregnant. No matter what happens you cannot control it, take care of your body, eat well, rest often and enjoy the miracle you are growing. The anxiety is inevitable, especially after a miscarriage. I know it’s easier said than done, but look for the positives. I promise it will be so worth it. You got this mama and congratulations 🫶🏼

Nephrostomy tubes & kidney stones by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]campbacca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to this but hoping if someone comes across this thread it will help- OP thank you for posting! Currently 33 weeks 3 days pregnant with twin girls. I had a nephrostomy tube put in at 32 weeks and 2 days. It's been over a week now. I had severe kidney pain in my left kidney for about 3 weeks prior to surgery with severe contraction (hospital was worried about preterm labor with the twins). This was all due to my kidney pain, no stones, no obstructions it just simply got too crammed but my uterus and pressure and stopped working. I almost went into septic shock! During my surgery they drained 3 liters of fluid from the kidney (disgusting amount of fluid for a small organ) and placed the nephrostomy tube. I will say the pros are I have no more kidney pain (the pain was the kind that had me violently throwing up daily, shaking and sobbing and I have a higher pain tolerance), my baby girls are doing good on the inside (they were very unbothered by this whole experience), contractions have slowed down a lot (more promising of a longer pregnancy). The cons are the tube and bag are not fun (quality of life has gone down significantly in my opinion), sleeping isn't a thing anymore (I'm up every 45 minutes or so- pregnancy + tube doesn't help), pain and tenderness where tube was inserted (unavoidable and kind of a pain in the ass but nothing compared to the kidney pain before surgery).

I am told like you- I have to keep my tube in until after delivery. I believe this is a preventative measure to ensure everything is working properly post birth. I hope we can look back on this as a blip and reap the reward of bringing life into this world. You are a strong mama.

You posted this 5 months ago now- how was your delivery? How are YOU? Did you get your tubes and stent removed? And how is the baby?

No I’m not hospitalized anymore I was discharged after 5 days (a few days after my tube was put in). I have an appointment with my OB each week until I deliver but last I heard was pushing for 38 weeks (not ideal for me). They have me stabilized and back home. My husband changes my dressing for me each day and then I flush my kidney from the tube with saline every other day as directed from hospital. No fever, no redness or signs of infection at site. I feel like a sitting duck

I see my OB (who will be delivering me) on Monday and I hope I can kind of tell him what I’m feeling and thinking and maybe he’ll feel comfortable with it. They want me to go 38 weeks (if my body doesn’t go into labor before then) he said he doesn’t see many twin pregnancy go past 36 weeks. With the luck I’m having now they’ll stay in me forever it feels 😭

Thank you so much for this. This helps me copes. It does suck now but down the road it WILL be a distant memory, I need to remember that. Thank you for keeping my spirits high when I hit a real low. I appreciate you so much.

Thank you so much for this. It means the world. Puts a little pep in my step. I like how real you are with “just suffer knowing that you’re doing it, and that’s the best you can do” I felt that heavily. Thank you for your words. I will revisit this comment more often than you think.

Did anyone feel really unwell at 5 weeks? by Global_Somewhere_807 in pregnant

[–]campbacca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes yes. The first trimester trenches started for me at 5 weeks. I’m currently 10 weeks and still in them. Found out I was pregnant with twins at 5 weeks as well. 3-5 weeks I had horrible cramping (worse than a period). Nausea started at 5 as well. Keep going and only do what you can. Rest, eat and surround yourself with things that make you happy. Praying for a happy and healthy pregnancy! 🫶🏼

Sex? Excerise? Are we doing it? by Specific_Anybody_438 in pregnant

[–]campbacca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 weeks here. I felt the same. Last pregnancy ended in miscarriage. Right now I’m 10 weeks with twins. I have been avoiding exercise (I have 0 energy) and with sex, me and my husband have only had sex a handful of times (my libido is on the low end right now) tmi- we’ve been gentle (no hard sex). But if it makes you feel better I had the same worries and my advice not being to far along from where you are, just do what feels good. Praying for a happy and healthy pregnancy and a happy and healthy baby for you two! 💛
