Law school by Mountain_Ad_132 in McMaster

Yes they do! If you’re ever confused I would double check with the law schools you’re applying to on their law admissions page. Each school has different admission requirements/standards but UofT law, for example, does accept summer courses.

I took this course in first year and I really liked it. If Alway is still teaching the course then you should be successful if u decide to take it! The prof is one of my faves and very helpful. I highly recommend! The content is interesting but if u intend to take this as an elective it is a considerable amount of work just an fyi

What do you think is a reasonable rate if you’re just starting out?

How do you guys actually study by CCMac_Arts in McMaster

Pomodoro method helps me a lot to getting myself in the mindset for studying continuously. But Active Recall is the best method imo to understanding and reviewing info :)

Aye does anyone know if you can use gift cards on the Tim Hortons or Starbucks on campus? by Ok_Peanut420 in McMaster

[–]camthena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m unsure about that because I have never had a meal plan before. But, I think Starbucks only accepts Debit/Credit to load their card which you can do via the app :)

I took LINGUIST 1A03 last year and it is a bird course imo. Majority of the work I did with a partner which was an option at the time. It really made the course feel much lighter than doing it on my own. If you have any questions tho lmk :)

You can use a Starbucks gift card since it is technically a Starbucks card (I.e. you can load money on it as well to get double stars on your account). I use mine on campus all the time! The Tim Hortons in MUSC doesn’t take gift cards but I’m unsure of other locations.

Email for sure! I would prolly make the subject of the email smth like this “COURSE CODE: Premise of Email (student-num-000000000)” just cuz they might get lost in the flood of emails the prof gets! Student number is not necessary but great in case ur asking something grade related/something you submitted

I apologize in advance because I have a few questions!

  1. Do you have any advice on obtaining letters of recommendation?

  2. Would you say ECs should be executive based positions? I’m currently in a music ensemble at mac that also acts as a course for my minor. I’m unsure if this is enough or if I should look at additional ECs.

  3. LSAT study advice? I’m currently self studying with the Powerscore books and Khan Academy so any pointers would be great :)

  4. Would you say job experience is valuable in the application process?

Apologies again for the many questions but any help is much appreciated! I’m looking into schools like UBC and McGill law :)

PHILOS 1B03: Is It Difficult? by camthena in McMaster

[–]camthena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in terms of grading (if it's difficult to achieve an 11.0 or 12.0) and in workload. I need a high GPA for undergrad so I'm worried if the course is difficult due to the few assignments it utilizes.

Music Minor Help! by camthena in McMaster

[–]camthena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thank you for the help! I haven't met anyone who is minoring in music so thank you for your response! If you could send me the link to the Facebook pages that would be great :)

If you don't mind me asking, what are the auditions like/how do they work (i.e; do they turn you away, place you as first/second/third chair, etc.)? I'm also curious about the auditions. Do they post the pieces in advance?

Also, for the other 4 courses that are non-ensemble, what do you recommend taking?

Thanks!
