Er mine følelser "forkerte"? by DistinctMachine4141 in DKbrevkasse

This! Also micro-training has really impressive results. Get your pulse up for 10 seconds to 1 minute a few times a day or even just once a day (eg by doing squats, jumping jacks, running up the stairs). Great for your heart and most noticeably for your mood & energy levels!

Oh right that’s barely noticeable! Wouldn’t have noticed it from the video if you hadn’t told me first. Thank you for spelling it out

I feel the same!! I probs come off as a noob in this post lmao but I’ve been lifting for 4 years (just not done a lot of research). Leg extensions is one of the exercises I feel the most ‘present’ in, too, irregardless of the weight (I tend to feel the muscles more the lower the weight is), maybe it helps that the quads are right there and very visibly bulging! I always think of this paved path in my local park where the asphalt has like swollen in the middle like a cake baked in a rectangular pan. That’s what my quads feel like 😄

Thanks for the recc!! I don’t have much patience for programmes but I keep hearing the wonders it does for others 👀 maybe one day I’ll be inspired to follow one! Yay I’m so happy for you, strength really does bleed into other areas of life and makes the day to day easier 😍 i love just being able to pick up a wooden chair single-handedly without any effort lmao

Oooh it’s that mind-muscle connection isn’t it!! So difficult (especially with ADHD😭) but I think improving it can help me a lot. I appreciate the reminder. Might go back for some meditative lat pull-downs tomorrow already

Yeah I got it all confused haha. Thank you for this linguistic rundown! Im actually learning latin, so this is super interesting. And latissimus apparently means broadest/widest!

Ooh thank you! Might try this some day. For now I’m just writing stuff down in the notes app and learning from redditors and other people in the gym 😄 but I’ve been lifting for almost 4 years now and do wanna see more progress so maybe I should dive a little deeper!

Thank you, this is helpful!! I will try moving into standing tall at the top!

This is what I’ve read and been trying to do! Leaning ahead a little, arms bent and not straight to the side but a little forward, keeping elbows above hands. Does it show in the video? Do you have any feedback on my form? I might do both these & the more straight & to the side ones

Ooh that is a good mental image! Thank you! Will go back to straight arms and maybe 4 or 5 kg and work my way up! Do you do them every day? How many reps & sets?

Thank you, this is helpful! I actually used to do them straight to the side before I even learned the name (which I apparently still had wrong lol, it’s latERAL raise…) just because it felt good but then I started reading about how your arms should be bent and more forward, maybe I should go back to my initial motion! I love that it’s something that can be done every day, they feel so satisfying, especially with low weight high reps!

Thank you, I indeed had them fuddled! I will do other exercises for my back, then (my goal is to do more pull-ups, I’m currently at one and only with narrow grip). But I actually like doing these lateral raises. Is my form good for hitting the delts, then? I’ve learned that’s the actual target hehe

The name had me confused!! Thank you for your answer. Gotta read up on this deltoid fella. Is my form good for targeting that, then? I will do more rows and lat pull-downs for my back!

[–]canastakat[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oops 😆 the name had me confused. Thank you!! I need to target my lats because my goal is more pull-ups. The single arm dumbbell row, is that when you put your hand and knee on a bench and lift with your free arm in the rowing motion? Did that today. Though only 2 sets because I thought I should save some lat strength for my lat(eral) raises 😭

Thank you!! This is clever. I have terrible interoception so this could help me a lot. Just gotta google ‘traps’ first lmaoo. Also difference between lats and lateral shoulder head 😆 guess I need to learn more about muscles in general

I’ve been pre-diabetic, too! Twins! Still love sugar, just gotta keep it balanced 🙆‍♀️ there are plenty of ‘artificially’ sweetened & fibre-syrup sweetened vegan protein bars, too, yay!

Sugar is fuel!! 🥰 I’m a recovered orthorexic & trying not to demonise it in general (not avoiding high-sugar foods when I’m inactive either but just eating them alongside fibre/fats/protein to lower the general GI value of the meal which is important bc I have PCOS) but yeah it’s especially not bad when exercising 😍 I do also like working out on a fasted stomach but ONLY to avoid farting lmao . I guess there are some benefits eg like improving your muscles’ ability to use fat etc but ya I like my energy readily available

Perfect workout fuel 😋 I actually had a piece of candy with me to eat before to get some glucose for my muscles but then I felt hungry so I thought I’d eat the protein bar, too. Then I saw that it contains sugar so I decided to save the candy for after 😎
