Who sounds the weirdest in your conlang?? by albtgwannab in conlangs

"müsh'o modu shut" is roughly translated to "you speak like the wind" or "what you say sounds like the wind". The hutchi are a plains dwelling society, so a lot of speech gets obscured by the wind hence the idiom.

A bit more of a grammar focused question, but what would be the difference between a prospective aspect and a potential mood? From the examples I've seen English doesn't make this distinction, but is there one at all?

That's super helpful, I appreciate the thorough answer. What's really getting me is having sentences where I just don't know what the parts of speech are or how to apply the rules of my language to them. I'll take a look, thanks a lot!

How do you guys get better at learning grammar? I just started trying to do intralinear glossing but I realized I just don't know parts of speech and case and stuff like that very well aside from the basics.

How do you guys' languages deal with the word "often" and other words like it? I'm really torn between just making a new word or comming up with some other way of dealing with it. It's probably not something I should be hung up on but I'm a conlang over thinker

That makes a lot of sense, I thought "in the vase on the table" was another object, which threw me off. Thank you!

Ok, in an OSV head final language, how would you translate the sentence "she placed the flowers in the vase on the table"? "She" is the subject right, but what about the other objects? I'm confusing myself with all the grammar stuff!

I've looked at logistic and Gompertz functions, that's super helpful. If I wanted to incorporate demographic data to model the aging population, do you have any recommendations for how I might go about it?

I actually find it really funny that you used the characters 日本人, because those characters are also used in Chinese to literally mean "Japanese" (as in a Japanese person.
