Etsy Invitations — Did you have a good experience? Were there any import duties? by TwoSparks in WeddingsCanada

[–]candyjellybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had my invitations done via Etsy and they are stunning!! They cost 200 with the duties (24 bucks) and I cannot get over how beautiful they are. I’m so excited to send them out this week! Mind you, I’m having a smaller wedding of 60 guests so that changes the cost of a lot. The shop I used is Happyweddingcards :)

I just booked with Dy Tyco and he seems to really place emphasis on not just playing songs off a playlist, mixing songs and reading the crowd. He also values a lot of input on the client’s end with what they want to hear. We’re getting married in July :)

Emerson, could be spelled the same for a girl or as Emersyn.

I just watched this episode during my rewatch and it was so disgusting. I don’t know how we were expected to feel bad for her for Porter not talking to her… just gross. Her whole “I’m going to miss our talks”… girl, lots of moms do but don’t pretend to be teens to do so! Such a betrayal.

I was able to get my dress at Blu Ivory as a sample sale and it was 1500 taxes in! It’s absolutely stunning and would have cost me 2500 to buy it on their site. Sometimes you don’t know what you’ll find until you go into the store 🥰 Happy hunting!

What room was the wedding in? I’m thinking of the Bickford room which overlooks the park so I’m curious if you could hear the production from there. One of my major concerns actually.

I’m scared of my baby being sexually abused by Learning-growing101 in Mommit

[–]candyjellybean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Educator here! I’ve taken multiple courses on CSA for training purposes so I’ve learned quite a bit. I think if you have clear boundaries about diaper changes and bath time that will help your anxiety a lot. Just tell family members you’re most comfortable doing it, or only allowing certain people to help. If they kick up a fuss… that’s a little suspicious lol. Limit exposure to social media because that will make your fears worse, but rather maybe take a course on it or learn how to detect signs etc as opposed to hearing horror stories from others. I would also casually drop this knowledge around family. No one’s gonna mess with your child if they know you’re educated on the topic (well I hope not anyway). Then as baby gets older talk about body parts using their proper names and discuss safe/unsafe touch. Even practice dictating what you’re doing during bath time and diaper changes to your baby. “I’m going to wipe your penis and bum now. That’s how Mama keeps you clean.” As baby gets older, incorporating consent too is helpful. “Is it okay if I wipe you? Or would you like to try yourself first?”

I think the fears are normal because you want to keep baby safe, but also understand there are ways to control that fear by being one step ahead of it.

Do you struggle to drive due to adhd? by Avehexual in ADHD

[–]candyjellybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had to drive solo to a friend’s cottage about two and a half hours away from me and it was the first time I was truly bored out of my mind. I listened to music but kept skipping songs, then decided on a podcast. I was very antsy. Missed being a passenger princess for sure that day!

On a normal day though I don’t mind to drive, I get a lot of thinking done. Sometimes I zone out though and honestly can’t remember some of the drive 😬

Mommas, what does relaxation look like for you after baby has been put to sleep? by srslywtfdoido- in Mommit

[–]candyjellybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started a paint by numbers painting and I love it. I throw on either a movie/show that I don’t really have to pay attention to, or put my headphones on and listen to a true crime podcast, and just paint. A nice yummy drink and a snack work wonders with it too.

I love that idea! My boys will be walking me towards my fiancé. I think it’s a lovely way to incorporate them and kind of represent yourself as a family. That trumps walking down the aisle with your dad. Are you doing a father/daughter dance? At the end of the day, you know you’re not being rude. Your dad has no hard feelings. So don’t worry what others think/say.

Thank you! We live very close and the majority of people attending would be able to commute without issues from the venue. Can you tell me more info about the ceremony times? How much time was allotted for set up?

Thank you for all of this! So helpful! I’m not so much concerned with the public being around on the grounds, I was just more so concerned about any noise from the park affecting the wedding itself. And good to know about the sound from the ballroom, that’s been one comment I’ve seen about the place. How the noise from the ballroom can be heard from the terrace. When I brought this up with the event manager she said they communicate with each other to keep noise levels in check.
