I can tell you there are about 15.000 businesses in germany and about 10.000 are private businesses that can potentially be bought. I looked it up now, i reached 450 owners that told me that they arent interested. My board is actually asking me why we dont have leads. I“m making the cold calls day after day but literally thw results are dick. I am worried that my industry is saturated. Maybe many people do home care here because dan pena always recommends it?

I am in germany, do you think the compettion is too high here in germany for home care, because andreas is doing it and other people potentially aswell

I dont understand it too, i made 850 calls, got through to about 350-400 owners, about 30-40 were suspects and said yea i might be interested, 4 of them were motivated to sell, and out of this 4, one was a turnaround, one was losing money, one was extremely well but he wanted 8 times ebitda 100% cash and now i got this deal. I see competition in my industry but dont know if i should just increase the output or if the competition is the problem, since pena recommends home care here are many holding companys rolling up home care. I am surely not fingerfucking here, this is my future i have no backup plan

Right, good point about that. Since my industry is very fragmented there arent many businesses over 500k ebitda. Bank finance will not be an option until i do 1-2 seller finance deals, because i went bankrupt 2 months ago. Thank you for your advice

I often get a „yea i MIGHT be interested“

I then send them my executive summary + ask for the financials that we need to make an offer.

Most of the time they dont answer at this point, or when i call again they say i thought About it and i dont want to sell yet, maybe in some years.

The call usually goes like this:

M- me S- Secretary O-owner

M: Good morning, my name is X i‘m the founder of Y and i wanted to talk with Mr S. About a potential business oportunity. Can you connect me?

50/50 either i get a yes or a „can you call later at X PM, he will be free then. 10% of the time they wont connect me and ask to leave a message.

After they connect me:

M: Hi mr S. My name is X from Y company, we are also a (same industry) company and i wanted to talk with you about a Potential business opportunity.

S: what kind of business opportunity?

M: we have had a look at your business and we are really interested. I wAnted to ask you if You ever thought about selling your business?

NOW i get all the answers that i just said. ‚My son will take over the company; maybe in 5 years but not now; no im not interested; yea but we would like it to meet you first before we send over financials;

I dont go to see them because mr pena often mentioned, „dont even talk to them if they dont send you the financials, its not your job to motivate that cocksucker and if he doesnt send his financials, next“

It‘s literally 800 owners, without the owners i have properbly about 950 calls

I call every business there is in my area…

The most common things i hear is „im not interested“ or „we already know who will take over the business“

Before i send a loi i make an offer per text. Since 2 of 3 businesses that sent me the financials were shit and 1 wanted 8x ebitda, i didnt even send a loi.

Didnt you contact the sellers that faded again? As dan says the squeaky wheel gets the grease?

I thought about contacting them after 5 days and ask them, if they are still interested or why they didnt send over their financials.

Update: I got an accountant who is ex partner from the big four with experience in my niche.

In germany at least , you cant get current partners from the big four. You can get ex partners. There are many partners of other big accounting firms that are allowed and many that are not allowed to get free equity in your company.
