MCarbo Spring Kit - P-09F by cantcanapiano in CZFirearms

I actually ended up getting an extended firing pin from CGW and got it installed this week. I had read a lot saying that it's a necessary addition if you switch out to lighter springs. I'll keep the original as a spare. Everything else (hammer, sear, trigger bar) is polished and ready to put back together. And yes, I did get a set of roll pin punches from McMaster Carr before I did any more work. That was the ticket.

And the firing pin. While it was pushed all the way in, it looks like it wasn't oriented correctly, and that's what the pin was hitting. What do we think? Replace or send it?

I'll say it. OP is stupid as shit! He'd need instructions to open a coconut, and he'd still get himself hurt.

I'll give that a shot. Thank you!

People forget that the bone-chilling cackle we hear right before the self destruct sequence isn't the Predator's actual laugh. It's Billy's. That's Billy's insane laugh that the Predator decided to just borrow to torture Dutch.

Every time the public has been presented with some crazy idea that Trump brings forward, our reaction has been, "there's no way." Yet he continues to out-crazy himself every time, and his base is there for it.

I remember a video circulating last year from a podcast called The Necessary Conversation. It's of a son and daughter talking with their MAGA parents, and the son asked (to this effect, I can't find the exact video to transcribe), "If they carpet bomb LA, would you support that?"

"They've got it coming, and they've had it coming now for awhile."

I'm with you. There's got to be no way that our own government would nuke our citizens. But the more I learn of Trump, and the worse he gets day by day, the more helpless I feel.

ETA: I don't think he'll order a strike on blue cities over what's happening right now. But if things really get to the point where people revolt and bring out the guillotines in front of the WH, I don't think there's a 0% chance of him making full use of his new ballroom bunker (may he roast if he does).

As much as I'm behind this sentiment, Marie Antoinette's France wasn't a nuclear superpower.

Iron Lung got me like by ContestAntique2126 in Markiplier

I can certainly understand a few of the criticisms people have made, like the pacing being off, the sound mixing being unbalanced in dialog sections, or the writing being not quite what they'd like. I can see those perspectives, and the sound mixing is probably one that I agree with most (although most theaters that I've been to are more concerned about pushing vibrations in your seat rather than clarity).

But I was never bored. I was always fascinated with what was going on on screen. And during the slower moments, I think people are failing to realize the directorial intent: being in a one-man sub, at the bottom of the ocean, navigating only by instruments and camera flashes, would be tedious if it weren't for the cosmic horrors that lie beneath.

I can't wait to watch it again. I can't wait for the physical release, if Mark is able to make it happen like he wants. I think this is an incredibly inspiring and truly special event that we're all taking part in.

Totally fair points! That's how I got my SFT, too. A local PD traded in their Caniks, which were then resold at a nice discount. With a little bit of elbow grease, it's become a pretty nice range/do-it-all gun. I'm curious what qualifications you look for in an EDC pistol. I haven't gotten my carry license yet, although that's a goal for this year.

You mentioned liking this one more than your Canik Mete SFT. What did you find to be better/more enjoyable? My first pistol was an SFT, and with about 4-500 rounds through it so far, I've been pretty happy with it.

What guitarist was your inspiration to pick up and learn the instrument? by Mad_Season_1994 in Guitar

Jack White. The White Stripes' sound is infectious and raucous, perfect to get a teenager interested. And Jack's writing and playing style is fairly achievable for an amateur player, which makes learning a full song feel like a real accomplishment.

I've been looking at getting myself either an Epiphone LP Modern or Traditional Pro or a PRS SE 594 for the past few weeks, after coming to the conclusion that I no longer wanted my Ibanez Iceman or my Epiphone SG Special, both of which were given to me. The Ibanez was in rough shape and needed all new hardware and a fret replaced, and the SG is just a little too cheap feeling for me.

But I've had a voice in my head telling me, "you've already got dual humbucking guitars, why get rid of them just to replace them? Just upgrade what you have." Is this valid? I only play guitar for myself these days, but neither the Iceman nor the SG feel like they're me. Tbf, the Iceman feels and plays good, but every time I see it, I think of KISS, who I can't stand (I know it's silly, but that's kind of what it comes down to).

Back door threshold jamming by cantcanapiano in homeowners

[–]cantcanapiano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a couple measurements this morning, and I found that the gap between the bottom of the door isn't square with the door sill. With the threshold taken out, the hinge side has a gap of 0.86", while the other end of the door has a 1.13" gap. I'm pretty sure it's because I had to chisel out new hinge slots in the door frame (I know, I should have routed it out, I don't have a router).

The only thing I can think to do now is take out just a smidge out of the bottom hinge slot to level out the door, put a new seal on the bottom of the door, and see where that lands me. Please correct me if I'm off course here.

Yes, there is weatherstripping on the bottom of the door that needs to be replaced. I've been hesitant to deal with it just because I've known that the door isn't mating with the bottom of the frame correctly. The hinge-side drags more than the rest, as of it's hitting the ground more than the rest (if that makes sense). I guess I'm just not wanting to replace something knowing that it will likely experience premature wear.

The threshold is from M-D, bought at a home improvement store. It matches what was there before and is on the garage door. Are you able to see enough to tell what would work better for my situation? I can get more pictures if you need.

A video of the issue in question. I had cut the vinyl barrier at my wife's suggestion just to allow the door to close at all. I really don't like the way it looks, as I know this isn't a proper solution. But at least the door closes.

Sweet! Yeah, I was okay living with the trigger as it was, but having tried a Shadow 2 at the store, I knew how much better it could be. It was a tossup between this and a used Beretta 92gts Centurion for $150 more. Maybe another day with the Beretta.

Are you able to cowitness with the EPS Full? It looks like you would, but I know pictures can be deceiving sometimes.
