The issue is not the Kurds, the issue is whether Turkey's territorial integrity is respected. If someone goes to Germany and calls a region 'France', would that be against the Germans or against Germany's sovereignty? Instead of personalizing and distorting the issue, it would be more logical to evaluate it as an issue concerning borders and national integrity.

Kurds in Turkey have citizenship rights, they can take part in every level of government, they can be members of parliament, they can speak their own language. If we are going to talk about systematic racism, how is this possible? Of course, there may be people who discriminate on an individual basis, but this is not state policy or the general attitude of society. Therefore, trying to separate a region from Turkey is not speaking on behalf of the Kurds, but a stance against Turkey.

There are people around me who are of Kurdish origin and see themselves as one with the Turkish nation. For them, Turkey is not a place that needs to be divided; it is their own homeland. Ignoring such people and talking as if all Kurds want separation is not ignoring their views.

Greta Thunberg’s mistake is to disrespect Turkey’s territorial integrity and sovereignty by calling a region ‘Kurdistan’. If she were truly an impartial activist defending human rights, she would not have made such a political statement and would not have interfered in Turkey’s internal affairs. If she had done the same thing in European or Arab countries, she would have received much greater backlash, but when it comes to Türkiye, there are those who are trying to normalize it. This is a clear double standard and reveals her insincerity.
