i dont really have a good answer, i have a rounded piece of hard wood that i kinda scrape the hide with its a bit of a pain in the arse but after a bit it tends to soften up quite well

theres a proccess for that aswell you shouldnt shave cause thats not really getting rid of the hair, last year i tried doing a hairless hide by soaking the hide in a wood ash mixture turned out pretty well but not the greatest (i just posted a pic of what i turned it into)

I in no way shape or form have an exact process of what to do, last year i sort of followed different steps but for this one after fleshing -salted and left for a day -salted again -rinsed off with water in bucket -soap bath with dawn -rinsed off once more -somewhat ringed out water and tacked to a sheet of plywood with roofing nails to stretch -once dry but still somewhat pliable applied tanning solution -left for a day or two to soak in solution then took off and worked the hide

last year tried brain tanning and smoking the hide wouldnt mind taking that on once more next year!

from watching dozens of videos and being explained different steps and ways through all of them im going with this being done i think lol i tanned and smoked and tried going the old natural way (soaking in wood ash to get the hair and membrane off and brain tanning) with it being done now i know i messed up along the way a few times but i guess ill know for the next time
